Okay, so I’m not sure if I’m an actual moron or if I’m just terrible at math…but I need to know what combinations of games I need to play in order to hedge my parlay tonight. So, I took Houston and Coastal Carolina last night and have Temple, Charlotte, and Stanford tonight (all ATS). My book is Heritage Sports, so they give me the option to do an “Almost Parlay” bet (3 teams, 2 need to win). Now my question is, I already have TEM, CHAR, STAN on my 5-team parlay that’s currently in progress…what “Almost Parlay” combinations do I need to run tonight so that I’m guaranteed a payout?

My advice and I am sure there will be tons of disagreement is this NEVER HEDGE TO LOCK UP PROFIT - In reality you are not locking up anything, you forget about all the losing parlays you have made to finally be in a position to get a big score, and you want to cut your profits in half by hedging?
Hedging only makes sense if the last game you have going, something has fundamentally changed to alter your opinion on the outcome of that game. If not, then you are only making another bet, you are not "hedging anything"
I would suggest if the payoff on the parlay is so large that you can not resist the urge, or do not have the heart to play it out, bet less on your parlays.

Don't do it. No matter what the math is, it isn't worth it. Ride out your parlay. Doing multiple parlays will lead you down a path of hoping not to lose, which you can't avoid if you are placing several bets which some are guaranteed to lose (betting opposite sides). The only thing you could do realistically is wait til the temple and fiu/Charlotte games are over....then come back and bet on AZ st....and I would buy it down to -9.5 so you have a decent window for a middle (you don't HAVE to lose 1 of the bets then). You'll pay a bunch of juice though....
Hedging is never really a good option unless circumstances have changed or if you have a chance at a feasible middle (meaning last leg is a fav on the ML and you can come in and bet the dog with the points).
GL no matter what brother.
