Houston
traveling to Provo on a Thursday night will be a challenge; however I feel that
the Houston football team is up for it. They have tremendous talent on both
sides of the ball. The key for them will be to avoid turnovers; BYU is a great
team with a talented quarterback. They beat a bad uconn team, and a beat down Texas
team. As I said, BYU is a great team as they did show that last week, and they
destroyed my Texas pick of last week. They play with full effort every play. However
the value lies with Houston, and I think this game will be close and tight
going in to the fourth quarter, even with the possibility of Houston leading
the game going into the fourth. Houston is a good play here.

This team was
horrible in the first three quarters against Penn state, or should I say the
offense was. The team has a lot of talent, especially on defense. Offense they
got a new QB starting, who can make some plays. Also, they will most likely
return their two best offensive players for the game, which they didn't t play
in the opener. Missouri is a great team with a flashy QB, but I feel a few
mistakes could give the central Florida team a possible upset bid. UCF is
hungry and angry and very anxious to get out and play a big SEC team on the
road. It should be a challenge, but with an extra week to prepare, I think this
team will be ready to play.
Arkansas
+ 1
Arkansas will
be heading to play Texas Tech, which relies on their passing attack. Texas Tech
started strong last year and then quickly dropped off. They have struggled
against mediocre teams thus far. Tech does have an air attack, which can be
potent. Arkansas has a three headed monster at the running back position as
many know. Lead by Collins who can do it all. Also, I like where the Razorback
program is going, I think this is a big momentum game for them and it is easily
winnable. I just see them controlling the line of scrimmage and controlling the
game clock with a powerful run game. Arkansas plays strong and avoids turnovers;
this game will be won by the Razorbacks.
UL
Lafayette + 27.5
Interesting
game as Ole Miss rolls into their home opener at 2-0. They beat a tough Boise
State team and a bad Vanderbilt team. Their defense is really good and they
have athletes all over the field. UL Lafayette I think can be sitting on a big
one right here. If they can minimize turnovers and create a few against Bo
Wallace they can easily hang in the game.
They have tremendous talent, of course not Ole Miss Caliber talent. I think
the difference is Hunger. UL Lafayette was practically embarrassed last week
against Louisiana Tech and reading some reports the head coach is furious. He
is ready to roll and has said the team will be ready to rock and this will be
the best week of practice. It is also his home state, where he will have family
and friends watching. I highly doubt he will let his team get smoked by 30
points.
