About a week after Alabama beat Georgia Scott Griffin interviwed Terry Saban..asked her was the door still open for the NFL for Nick and I couldnt believe her answer was YES..Nick has said Terry is the DECISION MAKER ..Lets be realistic-NOBODY BEATS BAMA UNLESS AJ gets hurt..NOBODY..Jerry Jones has Bill Callahan calling the plays for Jason Garrett- Thats a DEATH SENTENCE for Garrett.Jerry is OLD and the only 2 coaches he has had bring him a Super Bowl are ex college coach icons.Can u imagine how many titles Jimmy wouldve won for Miami Hurricanes if he wouldve stayed.THIS IS THE ONLY JOB IMO THAT WILL MOVE SABAN TO NFL.I wish I had the link of archives for yall to hear Terry talk about the NFL..What woulve happened in Miami if Nick got Brees instead of Cullpepper in 2006.Jerry is gonna give the keys to the Dallas Cowboys to Nick...FULL CONTROL..Gus beats up on Kirby and brings 3 National Title to the plains by 2020,,SOUNDS GOOD

Dude I heard that interview and she said "you can never say never" but she never even hinted at leaving for NFL. He isn&#x27;t going anywhere for at least 4-5 years IMO.

If he doesnt leave after this year he will coach 4 or 5 more years@Bama.Its obvious we havent seen a well oiled machine like this in college football.Bowden had 15 top 5 straight finishes,but didnt have BIG GAME coaching ABILITY like Saban.I really dont think Saban is even the best gameday coach in the SEC,but as we all know there isnt ANYONE that can beat him with a month to prepare...REAL SIMPLE-HE OUT RECRUITS AND RARELY RELAXES....I can tell after watching Auburn get screwed in 83 and 2004 once u taste that National Ectasy Title feeling there isnt ANYTHING like it.Im seriously considering flying Aug 31st weekend  to Vegas and putting a NASTY amount on Bama 1ST half and full game versus Va Tech.

After Bama loses Saban they will be in hot pursuit of Tuscson,Arizona for Rodriguez from the Arizona Wildcats.To think Rodrego actually turned down Bama back in 2006..to think how close Auburn was winning one for  the toe.

My 1st thought would be Kirby Smart replacing Saban someday, and Alabama just keeps kicking Auburns a-s-s.

I'm like Jimmy i believe Alabama will be his last HC job, since Alabama hired an A.D in his 70's it crossed my mind the reason they didn't hire a young AD was when Saban stepped down from coaching he would be Alabama's next A.D.

Why leave the State of Alabama him and his wife works with kids throughout the State threw foundation named after him...etc, he already has a statue and will beat Bear's title as the best coach ever at Alabama.

He could run for Gov and win, but i think he would settle for the SEC commish job if it was offered.

Not only would Saban win the Governor&#x27;s race he would win it convincingly with EASE.I also think he would win a Super Bowl if he was with an NFL team 5 years..He s 61 yrs old if he doesnt go pro after this year he isnt going...Jerry might throw the world at him come January..Auburn is headed in right direction.I guess we will find out soon.IMO Gus won the coaching battle 2 of 3 VS Saban from 2009 to 2011 even though he only translated to 1 win..He couldve easily been 2-1 if he had a QB that could run faster than 5.3 40 yd dash in 2009..I laugh when people say Pat Dye has control over the program when he wasnt even allowed to be on sidelines when Tubs was there.Its truly one of the MOST UTTERLY ABSURD things Ive ever heard of Auburn football.Every coach besides Barfield has had great success on the plains after Shug except Barfield and he coudnt win at Opelika HS..Dye-4 SEC titles,robbed NC in 83,Bowden-won 20 straight,Tubs-still has ownership in Tusc,Chizik-RING ..Gus-TBD..enjoy it while it lasts Bammers bc all great things come to an end..Saban-"Only thing that is predictable is that college football is unpredictable"

i will take it a step further. i predict Saban will become an NFL coach again ala Pete Carroll who could not get the sour taste of the New Eng Pats experience out of his head.

Nicky's daddy Lou as most of you should know was a fine NFL HC and me thinks Nicky will want to prove it on the highest level which he could not do at Miami.

This is one of those useless debates that doesn't help anyone win money but, hey, it's July and people are hungry to discuss anything football, so I'll bite.

The truth of the matter is no one really has a clue what Saban is going to do (although there is no shortage of Alabama fans who think they know), because none of us have the ability to probe the recesses of his mind.

What Saban, or any other coach for that matter, say publicly is of no probative value because no coach can say he pursuing other coaching opportunities while actively coaching another team. That would completely destroy the morale of his current team. As far as I know no coach has ever done that, and I highly doubt one ever will. These things are always negotiated between agents on the down-low, away from public scrutiny. Then when the season is over, an announcement is made. That's the way it is done, so if Saban decides to bolt for the NFL, I'm sure that's the way it'll go down.

The way I see it there are two possible trains of thought here. One is - say Saban wins his 4th BCS National Championship in 5 years this season which is highly possible - he becomes completely bored with it all. I mean how many times can you win a championship before it becomes passe?

So Scenario A is he becomes bored with the college game because it's no longer a challenge for him, and he gets a a great full-control offer from a very prominent NFL team like Dallas. Depending on his mindset, that may be an offer he can't refuse.

Another thing that lends some credibility to Scenario A is that Saban had a reputation for having happy feet prior to coming to Alabama. So there's that too.

Scenario B goes something like this. He and his family are very comfortable in Tuscaloosa, and he prefers (like he has said repeatedly) developing and molding young men both on and off the field. And while winning national championships may be becoming passe, he wants to build his legacy as the greatest college football coach of all time.

My two cents:

While I'm not oblivious to the very real possibility that Scenario A could be an option, I tend to lean slightly to Scenario B. I do so because I do buy into the notion that Saban prefers molding young men as opposed to dealing with grown, paid professionals.

A couple of other points.

I think it is pretty obvious that Alabama will be his last "college" job, so I give no credence to any rumors he may jump to another school.

Lastly, if Saban does make the jump to the NFL after this season, I think it is pretty much a lock that Kirby Smart will replace him.
