I haven't been overly impressed with Penn St this year. They are a good team but not a great team. They are 8-0 but only once have they scored more than 34 points (56-0 over Kent St). The Buckeyes are the better team with superior athletes. They are more explosive. I know they struggled with Nebraska last week but they were looking ahead to Penn St. Also, this game is more critical for Ohio St because they already have a loss (32-31 at Oregon). They cannot afford a 2nd loss, whereas 1 loss wouldn't kill Penn St. Ohio St has owned Penn St recently having won the past 7 match-ups. I look for OSU to continue the streak with a solid victory of more than 7 points. Give me OSU -4.

Yikes, square on the road vs an undefeated team with arguably a better defense and similar offense. Love the boldness, but will see a Georgia-like response by the Buckeyes like Georgia gave after booking one loss??
The difference is, OSU does not have 2 weeks to prep like Georgia did if you were thinking this way.
Are you not concerned about the Nebraska game in how OSU seemed apprehensive to get a hole for their running game? The PSU defense is no joke. Raiola has nowhere near the tools that the PSU offense has to work with.
I hope we both get it . I just want to watch the game and have PSU teased up 7 pts
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

I have bet on Penn St 3 times this year and they have failed to cover all 3 times, so that may have influenced my thinking. But I thought OSU was lethargic against Nebr just because they were looking ahead to Penn St. Maybe the OL injuries that OSU has are worse than I realize. But they definitely have Penn St's number and they definitely have better skill players and they certainly need this game more.

As far a line I like Ohio St. OSU were they -3 at the Ducks ? Lot more travel in unfamiliar territory. I ask myself do the Buc I’s lose 2 road favorite lines? Against 2 top 5 teams? No,I can’t see it. Buc I’s minus points but I won’t bet it. If Penn St beats Them, that would be something new.
Do you believe OSU will be more motivated than PSU? Or is it a talent thing? PSU has never been in the CFP but have been ranked #1 at year's end
Ohio St was the last to supplant them when they had the best chances in 2019. I think PSU and their fans are feeling the motivation far more in my opinion and talent wise, they are too close to overcome 4 pts on the road when PSU is 14th offense and #3 defense..... OSU is #9 offense and #1 in SP+
If the Buckeyes were so concerned with having one loss, why didn't they come firing at Nebraska? (For the record, I do not believe in look ahead games unless you have ZERO losses.....and can afford to lose. Last week, Nebraska took the lead at the start of the 4th Q on the road in Columbus. That's a red flag in my opinion because PSU handled Illinois easily by 2 TDs at home and Nebraska lost to Illinois at home. The Buckeyes have not played Illinois but they only beat Nebraska by 4 at home AFTER their first loss).
Both teams will be 'desperate' to win. I predict a one score game, just like the Oregon game and that was a beauty
The magic of NCAAF....discussion about who is better and best!

Historically and recruiting Ohio St. in the past seasons. Until I can see Penn St elevate and stay in the top 5 when playing other elite teams I dont believe in them. Trust the process of the historical recruitment until thats no longer the case.
Penn St has had huge lines this season. Why they dont cover those lines? Who is the big time QB that can elevate from past Penn St seasons?
I trust Oregon as a highly skilled team to take down Ohio State, because they have better recruiting and they have elevated to top 5 levels. Penn St has to show the capability. Penn St has not shown a history of it.
I dont watch these teams but I am trusting the lines maker to establish their current credentials.
Data:
Penn State as a home dog 9-22 SU 14-16 ATS.
Penn St as a home dog vs a top 25 team 2-13 SU and 5-9-1 ATS
Penn as a home dog with smaller lines than +14 vs top 25 teams 1-11 SU and 2-9-1 ATS.
Penn State has a very weak history in these situations. The only thing that would make me see anything different from them would have been covering some of the very high challenging lines :
-19 to Illinois fail, only scored 21 points
-29 to UCLA fail, only scored 27 points
-35 to Bowl Green fail only scored 34 points.
-48 to Kent St they covered scoring 56-0
Perfect illustration of the offensive difficulties. If they win here they will have to keep Ohio State under 24 points. The more points Ohio State gets puts pressure on the problematic Penn St offense.
Can Penn State ? YES! They can but they have to elevate past their performances this season and past seasons.
I dont see it because they have not shown it.
Ohio State failed against Oregon who has elevated. Penn State has not. I trust the lines maker that has made Ohio State a road favorite here after a past failure to Oregon this season.

How would OSU have handled Wisconsin on the road? PSU had to get a gift late to get back in the game Saturday.
really? and how would psu have handled nebraska at home, ohio state went life and death with them and only managed 64 yds on 31 carries, held 1-10 on 3rd down, and only managed 11 first downs the entire game compared to nebraska's 18 first downs

Aha....now I know you are not researching Spottie
I knew Drew Allar of Penn St when recruited was a top rated QB or the very best out of the U.S. high school program (5 Star) but did not know this factoid as well >> "His name is Beau Pribula, and he arrived at Penn State in the same recruiting class as heralded five-star quarterback recruit Drew Allar."
Pribula is their backup.....name me another school in college that has 2x 5 Star QB recruits ??
Penn St program is elite as they come....
Now for the surprise >> QB of Ohio St had to be transferred from Kansas St and > "Howard was rated a three-star recruit and received over 20 total scholarship offers. He committed to play college football at Kansas State after considering"
One more thing....you bet Penn St in week #8 at -6.5 on the road going into USC with jetlag.....and expected to beat a talented USC team on rest and waiting for them?
They did, but shame on your for finally taking a square line and getting burned. So now you want to go square again on Ohio St at -4 with a 3 Star QB after they just about lost to Nebraska who was on the road???? Reality check please
Love you man...but you are not seeing things this time

Love ya my friend Spottie ..... I heard the same thing with Ohio St (not you) with a lot of people.....travelling to OREGON and they played great but were favorite by -4.5 until sensible bettors brought the line down, including myself.
Did you see Kirby Smart after he found the perfect game vs Texas? He was acting like he won the lottery and major relief on his face.....and he quickly reverted to saying they came to EAT (his team)
Anything can happen in this game since both coaches are meh.....but Penn St. recruiting is not an issue
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

OSU Took It Easy On Nebraska They Have Penn St This Week And Everyone And Momma Going To Look @ OSU Performance And Be On Penn St Give Me The Mighty Buckeyes Minus The Chalk Penn St Coach Can’t Win The Big Dance.

Okay fair enough in this case. What you are not seeing is Penn State scoring is still sub par from my sight.
One time on the season, One time on the season, one more time, one time on the season they have scored more than 34 points. Against their opponents, I don’t give Penn state the credibility that they should only be +4 here.
Three times this season they have been -28 or more.
Slice it up all you want but I would never ever take Penn State in a big time matchup until they prove that they can consistently elevate. They have not been able to do so in their history. Yes periodically and sporadically they step up.
The data is so far against them. Let’s see if they can elevate and confirm your thoughts and searches.
If they win here maybe they can change into a powerhouse like an Ohio State. I just can’t see it.
Remember I am a data and fog guy and I am making a case here for a favorite.
Finally I have no action on this game. If I were to wager on Ohio State and lose?!
It would stick in my head. Last week I wagered on Penn State for the same reason. Wisconsins lack of consistency when playing the big dominant conference teams.
This week no bet here just data I see against Penn State.

Im almost certain Air Noland ended being a 5* but I could be wrong and Julian Sayin was a 5*, Devin Brown was a 4* as was Lincoln K
Ohio State not covering against Nebraska and Penn State covering was the best scenario for Ohio State backers, easily saved you a point. If Ohio had ran through Nebraska this line would have ballooned past 4.
Keep the points and take the Buckeyes ML, Ohio State is the better team, and for all of you who say Ryan Day will screw it ups, can anyone remind me anything James Franklin has ever done, I will wait!

Totally agree on that about the line assessment. Home Dog..... and I love money more than I love chasing my passion for OSU which I have a soft spot for because I played in their indoor stadiums a couple times and spent a weekend in Columbus....was amazing! Will never forget.
I really like both teams a lot but Penn St. defensive speed from LBs is dazzling ....and Allar or Beau at QB have the horses to hang and win in my opinion, but really, all they have to do is hang for me to not bite my nails watching.
I am having about 10 guys over to watch this one and so right now, there are 6 taking OSU -3.5 or -4 and 3 of us took the +4. I expect a close game like Oregon and so, the OSU buyers will be biting their nails more than I will
