OKlahoma -41.5 over Temple **** Not a great way to open the season giving 41 pts but Oklahoma starts in a new Conf SEC leaving the B-12 . Think they want to show everyone they belong and start the season in a blowout Last yrs opening day at home they beat Ark St 73-0. Think Ark st and Temple are about the same talent. OU lost its qb Gabriel to Oregon but bring in Arnold and former Texas qb Thompson . Last yr they had some rb's they had to substitute because of their depth but bring back Sawchuck who came on strong at the end of the season. . Off line regrouped but they are athletic. All are in the 6'4 280-300 WR's thru the transfer portal got Burks from Purdue and are loaded with size and speed . But they have a new off coordinator the former North Texas head coach Littrell who should of never been fired.Last yr North Texas destroyed Temple 45-14 with Littrell's game plan. Now he has much better athletes at OU and think his game plan will be about the same. He knows Temple defense is weak and with his new Sooners blue chip players will destroy the Owls. Temple lost its top qb Warner and has one of the worst defenses in the country. OU has to many skill players on offense and Owls D will have big time problems slowing them down ..although OU has a new qb,new off coordinator a few new O-Linemen they should dominate the bad defesne. Temple lost to SMU 55-0 lost to Miami by 34 pts and North Texas 31 pts

In Philadelphia this week Article on Temple in the Philly Inq. " new Coach wants to change the narrative at Temple. . They picked up 18 transfers and have 31 returning players They lost their starting qb Warner and signed from Vir Boykin. Last year they finished 3-9 and 1-7 in conference With new coaches on off and def the wrong team to open the season at Oklahoma OU entering the SEC think they blow out the Owls,Think Temple Defense will not stop Sooners offense. EA sports did a simulated game OU up big but let Temple score and predicted 41-7 win Thats not good so don't know EA ats record . But again hate giving 41 points to anybody but think OU wants to make an impressive start in the SEC. Temple has new coordinators and new def line and off line . Go Sooners

Sure, OU may blow them out and cover…By why would you give 42 to points to almost anyone. It’s week 1, OU has bigger fish to fry and a grueling SEC schedule ahead of them. OU will empty its bench by the 3rd quarter, but maybe Temple keeps playing hard and with two minutes left puts together a drive and a bdc. Stoops is no longer the coach, and with a 12 team playoff, there is no longer an incentive to impress with style points even in front of the home crowd. And normally, most head coaches call off the dogs once they hit 50. I advocate that there are better plays on the board in week 1…

thanks longhorn L Your pts are valid and I thought about them before Just think Temple defesne cannot stop OU's offense and really think the former North Texas coach who blew Temple out when he was head coach at NT has a game plan in store and it has blow out .. But 41 pts is a lot of points to give and OU could sub early like you said and Temple plays all out. Still think Sooners will show up big and make a statement . Thanks for your input

Congrats on the 48 yrs! Right behind you heading for 47.
Not a bad play, good number at 41.5. That's 6td's with extra pts. Venables shows he can run it up, covered ats in both his home openers so far. Temple was 129th in int's per game last yr and now less experienced at qb.
BTW, OC Seth Litrell was not coach at NT last yr when they blew out Temple. No biggie.
Good Luck this yr!

my bad uniman Morris was the NT coach that was fired by SMOO. Litrell was the year before .. Damn that was a good angle I thought of when capping But still giving the 41 points Just think Temple defense won't stop OU's offence Thank you for the correction

don’t use EA Sports or video games to cap. Some of the other stuff you said in here applies but please don’t use video game simulation to weigh in on handicapping real college football games.
Until the wallet is full.

Agreed. Video games to cap is not a good system. Fun, yes, but should not be taken seriously.
I like your research and your capping and will definitely give more credence to that than any video game, or anyone that uses video games for that matter.

Texas's top running back Baxter today was lost for the season due to an ACL injury today at practice. But Texas has Blue still there and a few top reserves to replace Baxter.

You boys should learn respect for your elders here - who told you that Cam Ward was one of the nation's best QB's, when at IWU?
BV is a great bully (LY 73-0 / 66-17 similar role) - playing one of nation's worst teams (#130 or worse) - with no pulse whatsoever. The key here is DEFENSIVE PRIDE - better last year, but lacking so far. A Temple score would be a surprise - 10 points allowed will get them killed in practice next week. Recall when QB Warner was out LY Owls couldn't do anything - he's gone. Line should be 45+ and should close there. 55-10 would be about the best Temple can do.

thanks bookieassin But love to hear others opinion I am still searching for that beach house in the Caymans . Cameron Ward at miami .. wow I put a prop bet on him to win the Heisman . And his coach from IWU is now the coach at Texas St Kinne.. I have been studding OU- Temple and really think OU could be one of the best teams in the country esp if there new Qb Arnold comes through . Can't see Owls stopping them and Venable the OU coach who ran Clemsons defesne 2 yrs ago will shut down the Owls offense. think Sawchuck is one of the best rb's in the country and transfer portal Wr Burks is electric. They also have the best Mid LB in the country in Stutsman Hate laying that many points in 1st game because Venable will sub early and Temple will try make it respectable The under might be the play since I think the OU def schemes are different but think its a 56-0 ... my wife ordered a piece of Furniture that we had to put together { like an Ikea} I would rather pay the extra $ to have it put together. It took about 4 hours . The instructions were good but damn..
Top RB from Texas had an ACL surgery and is out for the season ...Longhorns have a few 3-4 star rb's in the wings but Baxter could block .. think its a big loss

Smart man - searching for opposing opinions - instead of ONLY those you agree with, like most every person here ..... makes you smarter. The latter makes and keeps a person dumb and costs money here. That's why most forums (that seek a consensus opinion) like here actually COST guys money .....
>> That said - a productive response might be : how can Temple stay in the game eggzactly? - can they slow down, or DISRUPT what OU likes to do on offense? - can they possibly move the chains on O - speed up the game / keep Sooner O off the field? - do they have a hidden edge, like in ST - and/or can they possibly leverage the field to their advantage? Are they well coached, do the small things well? Do they often have a turnover edge (limit their own - force opponent into mistakes?). For this type game - do they have a history of fighting for 4Q, or do they usually show up - pick up the huge check - get TF out? Does their opponent view these games as a SCRIMMAGE - play everybody - keep it vanilla - limit key players - or does the HC like to extend the margin - blow weaker teams off the field (and cover the game for their boosters btw)?
$ How many possessions will each team have? - how many stops can each D get? - will either D, or ST score? - can Temple's RZ D force OU to kick FG's?
Haven't done a deep dive - but all the above point strongly in OU's favor BTW. Negatives might be the Sooner QB situation - rebuilding OL. - Arnold throws a few picks, Owls blitz like crazy - force a few early TO? > you still probably cover ha. Off that ugly and (costly to me) bowl game - the most important thing here is to build QB Arnold's confidence - build some MO going into a rough season.

Don't bet full game here because your going to risk getting backdoored with that kind of number. However, 1st quarter Sooners -10.5 (+104) and Sooners -27.5 1st half (-107) is definitely worth a look. I think Oklahoma goes up big, can't see them not being up by at least 2 TD's in the 1st quarter and 30+ by HT.
