How is the majority on Bama and the Over? Once again I find myself clueless and not knowing enough of these two teams. Here is what I do know.
-Steller defenses on both sides.
-They played already and I watched the game and it was the definition of a defensive battle. Score was 9-6 and all of a sudden people are saying the over??? May I ask what has changed?
-I see the QB situation is better in LSU so that would only help back LSU and not Bama. Maybe it would help the over but common there was only 15 points in the last game, throw in 3 tds and still not over.
Just not understanding why so much love for Bama and Over.
All thoughts and opinions wanted and apprieciated. And please all haters welcome!

Thanks for the opinion, but I am only looking for logical reasons for any plays tonight. Just not seeing any really. Just a bunch of people telling us what they are playing.

There are just so many star athletes on both teams... Richardson for Bama, Randale, and Jefferson for LSU. You have to understand that these are amazing teams, and they will find a way to look at their mistakes from the first game, and get the ball in the end zone. I still am not sold on the over though, but I do see some points on the board. Something like 24 - 10

Ok points well taken and thanks for your thoughts. But did these players not play in the last game??? Did Bama not only have one trip to the redzone and LSU 3 or something like that?? These defenses have been hyped all year because they deserved it. Lets not overlook the power of this side of the ball. And I totally agree! I 100% expect more scoring but to say 3 tds and a field goal more??? Well I think I would be dumb to say that with confidence.

one reason may be a bama win will cause massive confusion- split championship could lead to the end of the BCS as we know it,,the whole process starts with a Tide victory (bama as a pick-em for me)

Like I said, adjustments man...
Side note that may not matter to most, but Bama has 9 players that will start, who played in the national championship game 2 years ago. It's called experience

Adjustments are made on both sides of the ball. Bama 9 starters from 2 years ago in a title game, is very useful knowledge and that is a huge factor. But that sways me slightly toward Bama but not the over.

the reason you can't base your total play on what happened in the first game is because this is a NC game, and the emotion level will be through the roof... couple of things to consider...
1) if either team gets a lead of 7 or more, the other team will start pressing... has a two-fold result... mistakes on defense by the losing team, and more confidence on offense for the team with the lead...
2) both coaches will be pulling out the stops on offense, knowing that (a) they will need to come up with some big plays to win this, and (b) their defense can bail them out of bad situations if necessary...
i'm not playing the total, but i would be very weary of taking the under in this game...

I have the same reasons as you do.. QB position favors LSU. I personally think the large Bama fan base is creating some public homer bets to come in. There is an article on the Covers home page about Billy Walters (not that I know who the fuck that guy is) placing an enormous bet on Alabama which moved the spread.
This is a home game for LSU. Defenses are the same. Though I really like the post that CharlotteSports just posted on his thread. LSU did need some luck in that last game to get past Bama, but they had no Jefferson as well if I am correct.
I went with my gut on this one. I think LSU at +3 buying 1/2 pt is a gift. Game could go either way, but I will take my chances with the undefeated team.
I have LSU at +2, +3 and +8.5 Teaser with the Giants yesteday. GL, your post makes me feel better about my line of thinking on this one
