ARIZONA STATE @ WASHINGTON STATE: A PULVERIZING IN PULLMAN
This is an interesting match-up of 2 teams seemingly headed in opposite directions. Washington State has lost 3 of their last 4 games by totals of 38, 28, and 24. Meanwhile, since losing a close game to Notre Dame, the Sun Devils have manhandled 2 conference opponents including a pretty good Washington outfit. Arizona State ranks 6th nationally in scoring with 45 points per game. Mike Leach’s Washington State offense is decent but terribly imbalanced. The Cougars are nearly dead last nationally in rushing. That does not bode well for WaSu. They will need to run the ball to keep the potent Arizona State offense on the sidelines. If The Sun Devil’s offense is on the field they will rack up points. Its just that simple. This is why I think Arizona State comes into Pullman and absolutely demolishes The Cougars. I like Mike Leach, but until he can get his own personnel, they are going to struggle. I am tempted to take the home team and the enormous 12.5 point spread, but I cant do it. Arizona State will get them down early and step on their throat. 11.5 points will be easily achieved.
The Lean: Arizona State -11.5
Score Prediction: ASU 56 – WSU 24
SOUTHERN CAL @ OREGON STATE: SAME SONG DIFFERENT VERSE FOR THE TROJANS
USC has really surprised me lately. After canning ass hat Lane Kiffin, the Trojans have gotten off the canvas and played reasonably well. They lost an ugly affair at Notre Dame, but have also defeated a decent Arizona team and a poor Utah team. That is a hell of a lot better than they were doing with said ass hat. The Achilles heel of this Southern Cal team is its Offense. It is downright putrid. USC ranks 90th in points per game with 24.6. Cody Kessler and Max Wittek both stink to high hell, and hinder an offense that is not void of play-makers. In strong contrast Oregon State has a very good offense averaging 40 points per game. Beaver’s QB Sean Mannion is having an outstanding season. Mannion leads the nation in passing yards, is completing 69% of his passes and has a 30-3 TD/int ratio. To me he is the best QB nobody is talking about. The USC Defense is pretty good but I don’t think it will be enough. Mannion and the Beavers will do enough to put the USC Offense behind the 8 ball. The Trojans simply don’t have the firepower under center to keep up. I’ll take the home team, laying the 5 points to cover comfortably.

I agree as well. Az state is looking better and better each week. I really like how they can run and pass the pass. I see this very similar to the Oregon state Wash st game. They just can't run the ball and when they fall behind they will throw and the turnover begin. Wash st has 38% third down conversion and averages 3.13 turnovers a game. AZ converts 49% of the time and turns it over 1.4.
