So they say it’s halftime instead of stopping the clock to re align the ball
Air Force wouldn’t of had time to run their kicking unit out … but because of the refs saying it was halftime they stopped the clock and let the field goal unit run out there ?
are you kidding me !?

I’m beyond heated that 3 points is huge for my under … wow wtf was that ? You can’t stop the clock and give the offense time to run the field goal unit out ? There should of been a run off for that mistake

He got a 1st down and they did not stop the clock...It was the right call to review it and put back 2 seconds..You know this better...You get a 1st down the CLOCK stops...You should be blaming the Nevada time keeper..had he done it correctly and stopped the clock with 2 seconds to go...Very good chance that AF would not have been able to lineup and spike the ball...

yeah i seen that. the half should have ended. i had 1st half under 23.5 so anything but a td and i was good. if they would scored a td on that last play i would have not been happy

no one ever is able to get the field goal unit set up in the time to start a 10 yard first down clock. takes about 15 seconds to get one unit off the field and other unit on. clock gets going within 10 seconds, especially at Nevada.

..Ever heard of spiking the ball? How long does that take...2 seconds.....LOL 15 seconds...Like I mentioned..had the Nevada time keeper stopped the clock on the 1st down..AF probably does not have enough time to lineup and spike the ball..but since they let the clock run out when it was suppose to be stopped it gave AF the time to lineup and snap the ball on the whistle....Nevada time keeper messed up big time ..not the refs....CLOCK STOPS on a 1st DOWN...since when is it a running clock after getting a 1st down????..so refs had to fix it and it was the right call..

Feel like I've seen so many head scratchers thru the years on these crazy MWC games

yes, it stops for enough time for them to move the chains. twice teams have tried to kick field goals this year in this situation this year from close range and both times they have missed. It isn't enough time to switch out 11 players for your kicking team. It takes about ten seconds to move the chains on average. It takes more than that to do subs.

i agree, but the point is that when the refs go to rectify the mistake, they should not overcompensate. Which is what they did. It is the same with injuries on the field stopping the clock. Teams get to do things that would not be possible had there not been on unforeseeable injury. Coaches literally are drawing up plays in these situations. it could happen both ways. i am not saying it is unfair over the course of a season. but for a single game, this hole in the rules makes the game a little bit more based on chance, and a little less on skill. which is another reason i always see a little hidden value in the underdogs.
