RODEO is a true American tradition with one foot set in the country's past and another in athletics. It's a sport filled with top notch two and four-legged athletes.
The State High School BASS FISHING tournament has been rescheduled for later this month after it was postponed due to high water levels on Carlyle Lake in southern Illinois.
NASCAR is at Dover Speedway today. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will instruct drivers to start their engines.
Hoping someone will start a thread on BIRD WATCHING during these boring days.

Walter, All you have to do is look at the number of views of the various threads you and others have posted. Your "Trends" thread in my opinion is a fantastic contribution! Looks like a lot of views so others must agree. CFB off season and Coaches Corner are two good ones too. They stay up near the top of the page.
Doubleup also has a nice thread, IMPROVING SQUADS....., a lot of views.
Off subject threads shouldn't be a big problem, unless they are spam or malice. These off subject threads will get a few views and move down the page.
Wait till the end of August when every yea-whoo posts their LOCKS, NO WAY I LOSE, threads, Then there is the "give me a guaranteed winner now because I'm entitled." But the good threads endure and stay up near the top of the page.
By the way, rodeo and nascar are not for me. Bass fishing and yes, even bird watching I enjoy.

Mr. U, nothing but great respect for you. My position is that this is a CFB forum. One guy post something different is a recipe for a dumbass forum with everyone posting silliness. I have ZERO, NOTHING against any poster here, some are comical, but I think it is selfish and arrogant to post crap that the forum was not meant for. Hell, were does it end?
Again, men like you I respect, other thumb-suckers make me laugh.

RODEO - The Southern Arkansas University rodeo team enjoyed another outstanding year. The team will send seven members to the College National Rodeo Finals in Casper, WY, in June. Ninety percent of the team is on academic scholarship. Some smart cowboys and cowgirls!

BASS FISHING - The University of North Alabama narrowly beats Auburn University to bring home the 2017 College National Championship. UNA had a combined two day weight of 44.33 pounds. Defending National Champion Auburn University finished second with 43.62 pounds. The event was held on the Tennessee River in northeast Alabama.

RODEO - The best four-legged athlete I've ever seen was a 1,900 pound bull named Bodacious. He bucked off 127 of 134 riders during his short four year career. He was retired early from rodeo competition because of fear he would kill someone. Bodacious injured so many riders that many who drew him would not show up to ride him. Great career for the best bucking bull I ever saw.

BASS FISHING - Marshall Deakins won the T-H Marine Bass Fishing League All-American tournament that ended Saturday on Pickwick Lake. Deakins won $125,000 with 60 pounds 6 ounces during the three day event. The biggest largemouth I ever caught on Pickwick Lake was a little over 6 pounds. I was in the boat with my nephew when he landed a 9 pounder. That was a fun just watching!

RODEO - The ten day National Finals Rodeo will be held for the 33rd year in Las Vegas starting December 7 and running through December 16. The event is held at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus. The Vegas strip is full of the Rodeo spirit. Some of the brightest stars in country music will appear as Hotels/Casinos try to out-do each other with NFR entertainment and specials. I have attended nine NFRs and enjoyed every one of them.

COWBOY UP - Preseason football polls are like tits on a Bull. Because after all, depending on what you conjure up, it really doesn't mean a thing...until the games begin. It should be known that preseason No. 1 teams are, for the most part, highly successful. These teams have gone 401-68-1 straight up in all games since 1980. And they're at their best against the spread in games when playing off a points spread loss, going 101-87-3 ATS over the same span, including a nice 103-84 ATS when favored.
That ain't no Bull.......................................

Bass Fishing: What a beautiful morning for fishing. I went to Smith Lake here in north Alabama with a couple of old buddies and we caught seven nice ones. I said nice...not huge ones.
Fun anyway!

NASCAR - Ryan Blaney gets his first career win at the Pocono 400 Sunday. The 23 year old wheeled his way to Wood Brothers Racing's first win since the Daytona 500 in 2011.
PEDAL TO THE MEDAL - There's no doubt about it. Most college football fans love to put their arms around a high scoring, exciting team. While defense is key when it comes to winning games, there is no refuting the fact that each and every team's mission is simple...outscore the opponent and win the game. With that thought in mind, it came as no surprise to learn that college football home dogs that have scored 40 or more points in each of their last two games are as solid an investment as you can find, going 74-41-3 against the spread in all games since 1980.
Pedal to the medal with a 64.3 percent winning situation!

RODEO - Lexingtonians are always looking for another reason to slide on their cowboy boots when it's not tailgate season and there isn't a big country concert at Rupp Arena. The third annual Lexington Rodeo this weekend is an opportunity to do just that. The event takes place at the Kentucky Horse Park.
Freshman have started a total of 101 games for the SMU Mustangs football team the past two seasons.
