Stanford Cardinal (11 – 2) @ Michigan State Spartans (12 – 1) Wednesday January 1, 5:45 PM EST
Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA
The Cardinal come into the New Year’s Day Rose Bowl game as a 6.5 point favorite against the 12 – 1 Spartans. The total is set at 43.
Michigan State has been a team that has flown under most people’s radar all year long. Not ours however as we cashed on them all year long.Michigan State has cashed against the spread on 7 of their last 9 contests including an impressive outright winner against Ohio State.
The Spartans have a very talented defense which allowed a country leading 248 yards against per game. They also allowed a paltry 12.7 points per game. The Big ten has some big time offenses and Sparty was able to hold most of them in check all year long.
Stanford had a fantastic year beating Oregon and Arizona State twice.Stanford likes to pound the ball on the ground and chew clock and let their defense try to hold the opponent in check.Stanford has played the 4th most difficult schedule in the country. However, the Cardinal has a weakness in the secondary and I think Michigan State’s underrated QB Connor Cook will do enough to make some key first downs and move the chains.
Michigan State’s defense will be swarming Wednesday and with Stanford’s one dimensional run first offense I expect Michigan State to keep the Cardinal in check all afternoon.Michigan State scores just enough to pull the upset win.
PREDICTION: MICHIGAN STATE 20, STANFORD 18
Play Michigan State ML (+200) ½ UNIT & Michigan State +6.5 Full Unit

Sorry won't happen. MSU doesn't just plug in a MLB after losing their 3 year starter - guy was the leader of the D. MSU has not played an Oline like this all year. THey will be healthy as will be Hogan the Stanford QB who can throw and run better than Cook. Stanford will pound early and often with Gafney and then throw to there 6-8 tight end. MSU will not score more than 13 and pack in late. Stanford wins by 14.
