Is the TV show Daily Wager on ESPN2 for real, I have watched it now going on 2 years and when it comes to College and NFL they always seem to pick the wrong team, and suggestions or am I just looking at this wrong

I would put 0 stock in anything ESPN says that is gambling related, outside of SVP Stanford Steve and Chris Fallica.
everyone else is a talking head...and the mute button should be pressed at once.
VSIN TV is good

The guy with the red beard was pretty good for a bit but I haven't paid attention in a while. That woman looks like the kind of chick that you see at a casino bar at 3am missing a shoe and offering blowies for a $5 parlay winner

If you are looking for good gambling content, or even just some interesting bathroom literature, go across the street to the rubber room. Look for the NEWS
also many podcasts to help you get labeled as Big Bets on Campus and help you with your Action!

Daily Wager is not a bad show, much better than the one on FS1. I guess if you are betting their picks, you have a reason to be upset. I watch DW, but never make a bet based on anything they are handicapping. Make your picks based on what you know about the game. Any one who bets based on someone else's view always has an excuse when the bet loses.

@pa2918
agree. Stanford Steve won a dozen straight "best bets" on daily wager. That is not luck. That is remarkable (and more importantly documentable). If he says go a particular way, I do listen.

I agree that Stanford Steve is solid. Clay Travis is also good among media members. Most Touts and ESPN guys are around 50% gamblers so you can’t bet em or fade em because there’s no value.
if you truly want to make money in gambling, betting sides and totals is not the way to do it. Many pro gamblers that make a living from it realized a while ago that volume betting positive expectation plays or (+EV) plays is a much better strategy for winning long term. These positive EV plays include a lot of props and/or value plays in various sports. Often times these plays take a little research to find but they are out there.
if you want a great book on +EV plays from a pro gambler I would highly recommend

There is some really great info in the book that can help anyone. Very easy read too.

Here's the thing about all of these new shows....
The networks (including ESPN) for years and years could barely mention gambling on sports. Now - all of a sudden - they are in a scramble to put on sports wagering content - and predictably IT ALL SUCKS. But it is in its infancy.
And for those who say SVP and his sidekick and "bad beats" are great - they are not. It is a pathetic attempt to try to relate to gamblers but it is all a big swing and miss. A bad beat is not a total on a MAC game that went over in the last two minutes. And Daily Wager? They know nothing. They say the same thing every day - and insert a team name - like a mad lib.
But it will get better.

I have always said....
All you need to do is follow several sports gamblers around with a camera for a season - and you would have the best reality TV (unscripted) you have ever seen.

@vanzack
I have had some big time laughs over the years thanks to degenerate gamblers. Two quick stories.
There is a gambler out there in Vegas who lost a bet to his buddy and he had to get the breast implants. He showed them and everyone gasped in disgust(well maybe not all)
Second story was these guys who just had to make bets at two in the morning and all they could find was Korean baseball. But one of them found a Mongolian goat football game he could bet on and did. Now WTF is Mongolian goat football? Why only the national sport in Mongolia. Guys on horseback gallop around with a dead goat and the other horse riders try to grab it from him.
