Stats on non ranked teams favored over ranked teams

Question

This is a trend that I&#x27;ve followed blindly in certain situations with much success in the past. Never did the research on the actual success rate of the home favorite covering over top 25 ranked team. Anyone have statistics with winning percentages for or against this trend? Looks like 5 betting opportunities with Maryland, Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame and Illinois this weekend. Worst case scenario I see is 3-2 imo. Would like to back this up with hardcore stats.Researching  stats is not my strong point. Much appreciated if anyone has time... Thanks in advance!

in college basketball this is a solid trend (to go with the unranked fave over a ranked team) that in the long run wins money.

in college football, its better to take lower ranked faves, like when #22 is favored against #5....

4-1 on the dayNot bad. I only played Miami, Notre Dame and Clemson though. Was not confident in Maryland or illinois. Going to follow this in certain spots in the future. Maryland and Illinois would not have qualified for my criteria anyways. Looking at mostly non ranked home faves of 3 pts. or better vs. ranked dogs with over 60% consensus backing them. Its a rare trend but may be a few more opportunities early in the season.

Check out my thread...I have played this angle for years with much success. I don't have any historical data, but today it was 4-0 if you threw out Maryland because they were an underdog by kickoff most places. They had 2 WR's suspended.

I also stayed away from the Miami/ Ohio st game just because of the suspended players coming back, etc. but it was a winner as well....

Keep an eye out for it as the year goes on... rare to have 4 in one week, but a huge day for me...hope you made some $$$.
