Sugar Bowl start time

They moved it to 4 est? Why wouldn’t they flip it with the other game and give it the prime slot?

I had the same question. However I just went to Betonline to place some bets on game and it shows a 7:45 pm start time. I am not happy with the 3pm middle of the day time slot. I hope they change it or changed it.

New Orleans was set to be the site for the Allstate Sugar Bowl, a College Football Playoff game that is scheduled to take place New Year's Day in the Caesar's Superdome just over a mile away from where last night's attack occurred. However, the threat of other potential attacks has resulted in a rescheduling of the game. Kickoff for the Sugar Bowl will now take place on Thursday, January 2nd at 8:45 p.m. and will be played in Caesar's Super Dome in New Orleans, Louisiana. not true. they announced 3 pm central unless they have changed it again

My book has it a 3 cst and the sugar bowl twitter has the same 

The Sugar Bowl subsequently announced the game is now slated to take place on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley initially said, "it's in the best interest of everybody and public safety that we postpone the game for 24 hours." Both teams had the option to seek an earlier start time than the previously planned 8:45 p.m. ET Wednesday kickoff for rest and recovery purposes, according to an ESPN report.

Both teams made it very clear they didn't want to play at night. It would be a unfair advantage for the winning team to get basically 2 days less to prepare for the next game. These games go four  hours, then u have on field celebration, interviews after ,you're talking 4am earliest you'd leave to fly home,which won't happen so they stay over night
