New Orleans was set to be the site for the Allstate Sugar Bowl, a College Football Playoff game that is scheduled to take place New Year's Day in the Caesar's Superdome just over a mile away from where last night's attack occurred. However, the threat of other potential attacks has resulted in a rescheduling of the game. Kickoff for the Sugar Bowl will now take place on Thursday, January 2nd at 8:45 p.m. and will be played in Caesar's Super Dome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Coverage for the game will be provided by EPSN.

The Sugar Bowl subsequently announced the game is now slated to take place on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley initially said, "it's in the best interest of everybody and public safety that we postpone the game for 24 hours." Both teams had the option to seek an earlier start time than the previously planned 8:45 p.m. ET Wednesday kickoff for rest and recovery purposes, according to an ESPN report.

Both teams made it very clear they didn't want to play at night. It would be a unfair advantage for the winning team to get basically 2 days less to prepare for the next game. These games go four hours, then u have on field celebration, interviews after ,you're talking 4am earliest you'd leave to fly home,which won't happen so they stay over night
