Ive always liked Gary Patterson, defensive minded, prepared , aggressive . No doubt he gets credit for being a quality coach and assembled a quality staff. With a couple average seasons recently he might NOT be currently in the discussion for a top national coach. 5-7 in 2019.
Last week was game 1 for them vs game # 2 for Iowa state . (Advantage Iowa state )
Recap for you , couple fluke plays did go both ways. TCU loses at home. High scoring game and the total WAS 42.5 and final score it’s 37-34.. Odd.. (defensive minded coach can’t be happy)
Tcu with the ball 4 minutes left , down 2 points. QB Duggan Throws a odd bobbled INT goes off the WR both hands and his knee then to a defender . ‘Sure handed ‘ WR the announcer says, that’s a fluke .... and goes down 9 points before a final play Duggan throws a back door 30 yard pass to lose by 3.. Throwing TDs on final play . Gary Patterson Doesn’t kick the extra point cause time expired, loss by 3 , that’s kinda Honey badger style .
SO , tcu loses at home to a team Iowa state that did lose to ULLafayatte by 17 in week 1. (I could see that being a bettors mindset to back Texas this week) Not a great taste to the tcu facility this week. Can’t be. On the other hand does Texas take accountability for their bad taste , maybe ? Who knows.
Duggan Qb who was 16/19 3 tds 1 int (bobbled). Came in second half and here’s a link to some info about that. Gotta expect Duggan gets the start at Texas . Certainly not easy place to play with all the those fans (JK) and also it got the AM time slot for Saturday on fox. Probably because TCU lost and they think the OU game is better prime time. Not so fast my friend . Duggan is the QB that has the heart condition and had to quit, even 2 weeks ago he wasn’t going to play this season ... worth a second to look up on your own. I have no idea what’s up with that, besides he missed a lot of time and so he didn’t get to start.
Rising Soph star qb “out indefinitely With heart condition “ is not the best news a couple weeks before first game to say the least haha. He tweeted that he had little Procedure and is on road to recovery. I remember seeing the headline, I had honestly forgot he was the starter from 2019. Hence he must be somewhat underrated. I didn’t even recognize the name .
Max Duggan is a special talent , rarely can you back a guy like this that’s under the radar. Gary Patterson basically had him on bench for a half and lost the game to keep him under the radar for us . His scrambling is fun to watch. Gotta Expect the team responds well to having a ‘special “ exciting Qb playing 4 quarters whenever Gary Patterson announces Duggan the starter for Texas game.
Many many people saw Texas barely survive and I’m not sure what the perception of that will be at the betting window . I can tell you what the top 25 Rankings thinks... Texas drops from 8th to 9th. Haha. Not exactly a punishment that seems to fit their crime.

With that said, Texas has an advantage at QB and should win straight up. But, I am not giving 13 points to TCU...
