I'm alive and well guys. Just needed a break. And you're all on track with the comments above.
Weeks #1 - #10, I had 8 winnings weeks and 2 losing weeks.
Week #2 was a small losing week at -0.39u.
That was followed by 5 consecutive winnings weeks.
Week 8 I went 18-18, but -7.28 units.
Rebounded nicely in Weeks 9 & 10 winning +3.35 units & +3.2 units, respectively. Up +59.1 units through week 10.
............
then Weeks 11 - 14 my overall record was 51-51-1. Want to guess how I did on units!? ........
-10.2 units in week 11 - just a bad week on the top plays.
-3.15 units in week 12 - almost hung it up for the year after this week, then I realized I would have won over 3.5 units if not for the Kent State comeback win over Buffalo (3 units - largest play of the week. I had a great number with -3 early, most had -6). Well documented bad beat. And then FCS Northern Iowa / South Dakota State Under 42.5 was 7-0 at halftime and ended up being a pretty bad beat as well with a defensive TD and a late meaningless score. When they met again in the playoffs and the total was 38ish, it stayed under this time, 13-10 game.
-0.3u in week 13.
Then week 14: 13-13 record excluding two hedge bets (1-1 there) and a very humbling -14.0 units. Two games were a 14 unit swing. SE Missouri State (5u) vs. Illinois State in the playoff game. I was locked in at 5 points and 3 points better than the closing line. The two Illinois State backup QBs (starter out) literally had as many completions as interceptions in their two previous games.
And BYU PK (2u) closed at around -6 I want to say without checking...... SDSU QB ruled out later in the week. SDSU in a non-league game, coming off a loss to Hawaii that was to win their half of the league, and QB out. BYU with their QB back. Didn't see that result coming either.
If you consistently end up with a better number than the closing line, that is a good thing long term - just didn't work out well for me in Week 14.
Somewhere in there my WMU conference futures play went all wrong at NIU. Almost forgot that.
I went 10-3 on RSW Totals and won 4.58 units there.
Unposted, but won +0.55u in Championship week to start feeling a little better about the end of this year. Cinci and mostly in-game after that. Really took it easy on the action.
Then 2-1 posted on FCS playoffs last week in someone else's thread. I played a few 2nd half plays (won a couple, lost one) that I didn't post and increased my posted Illinois State bets (1st half & full game) before kickoff. Came out slightly ahead on the Heisman too. +2.26 units last week. So, feeling a little better more recently.
Anyway, YTD I have 254 wins, 183 losses. And ~ +38 units for all money. Had to be smart enough to essentially walk away and not get emotional / stupid.
