Bama -6 is the bet of the week, but this is a game no one is talking about
Line itself is a joke. If this were the first game of the year Texas would be -3.5 at least. Cal is now favored as some legit top 15 team by 7 on the road when they've done nothing except beat 2 trash teams at home. Yet Cal -7 is one of the top public plays of the week fukken LMAO
Texas will use AD firing to rally behind Strong and get the win.
This is a classic fading of public perception in a strong situational spot.

Too bad Texas has such a pathetic offense and suspect D. Very lucky to beat a very weak Rice team with turnovers. How are they going to outscore a very potent Cal O with probably the top NFL QB prospect in Goff? Cal 35-17.

I would be nervous about taking Texas, those were last season stats.
In the 1st 2 games this year against ND and Rice Texas has allowed 547 yds passing. Against ND they had 8 1st Downs giving up 30,and 11 vs Rice giving up 30. Rice turned the ball over 5 times in that loss otherwise they outplayed Texas. Now Cal comes in scoring 108 pts in 2 games giving up just 21,with a pass def that has allowed 343 total yds . Now true Cal has only played Grambling St and SD St but I think there are better games out there than banking on Texas in this one
Good luck this week

I'm a Texas alum and big time homer, but from what I've seen in the first two games (I was at the Rice game), no way in hell Texas wins this game. Hope I'm wrong though.

This is going to sound really stupid, but I see this game going one of two ways.
Texas wins a tight contest or Cal blows them out.
As a Texas fan, I hope it's the first option. Heard brings a new dynamic to the Texas offense and truthfully the defense struggled with running QB's. Goff is not a runner and they should be able to get to him.

Texas is an absolute liability in the secondary and were out gained in OFFENSE against RICE by almost double. Cal doesn't have a stellar defense but they've improved. They have a NFL Qb and tons of weapons around him. Haven't been to a bowl game since 2011 and Sonny has these boys playing hungry football. They go to Texas and wreck shop. Cal 52-21

that's big moxie talk...have actually watched the Texas games?
sure, there may be an over reaction. Cal was a bottom 5 team in 2013. they may be a bit over hyped, but they are not terrible.
Texas will have to play a good game to cover and win. the variation of outcomes of this game could be any where from a Texas 10 point win to a Cal 20 point win and anything in between. it is a big no play for me.
I would encourage everyone to avoid this game. there are better options on the board...

If you want to give away 16 points on the line, be my guest, but this doesn't seem like a strong long-term strategy.
And I know, I know. "You didn't know Texas would be this bad." Fine, but the opportunity existed a few weeks ago to catch Cal as a double-digit dog. Now, for the same price, you need them to win by a touchdown.
No thanks.

The line prior to the season was Texas -10.
Two weeks into the season, the line is Cal -6.

Your comment is what makes handicapping so dangerous and difficult.
1. A bettor's memory is only as good as the last game.
2. No team is as bad or as good as you think they are.
Good luck.

All the detractors, post up your Cal -260 ticket you made earlier in the week.
Oh wait Texas ML is a horrible play yet you won't lay juice with Cal why? Cause you intuitively know the line is wrong and there is huge value on Texas, though you will not admit it

Down to +4.5 and +175 at some places
