just posted this in another thread. I am going to bed, so I won't be responding... They punt, get the stop and have a better chance than one play 10 yards.
Maybe you missed the 3 plays leading up to the 4th and 10. QB looked
defeated. Maybe they get the stop and still don't score. That's why they
play the game.

Smarty pant that was the dumbest decision I have seen in forever and your logic makes no sense... let me see... 1 play for 10 yrd or driving at least 80 yd in a min? Bc with tex only have two time outs and just 1.40 left it means they will get the ball back with at most a min left... So yes that was a pure dumb decision

Fumbles happen. He's more right than you. He's only thinking of the coach's logic.

Do you not understand shits can happen but you need to play the probabability, I can sit here and tell you the same garbage PI can happen on a throw and gives Tex the first down, the bottom line is what gives you the best chance, no ifs and maybes like the crap you defeding with, fumbles happen.. of course it can happen but with Cal playing to preotect the ball what is the odd? Who's to say they won't just victory kneel the three downs to avoid the fumble?

shameful defense, incompetent clock/drive management...texas should be dropped from the top 25 (should never have been there in the first place)...DC bedford should be fired...this loss is inexcusable...

As I said the QB looked defeated. He looked like he had been on the bench all game and was just thrown out there. So you punt, get him on the sidelines and hope for another possession. Maybe you should stop trolling men's rooms and get off grinder, let the real men talk football.

It's the same thing.....most super old school coaches would do *the ultimate GOAL.....we often see....is not actually WINNING the game.....but to appear to be a conservative old school coach / respected by your peers...................seriously
Only smart ....if you have a knock their d-i-c-k-s in the dirt type D *Texas hadn't really stopped Cal (when they NEEDED to) all night......Horns had 568 TO.....averaging 6.3/play....so vs a really weak D in Cal......going for it here.....was the ONLY thing to do
> usually the thinking is.....if the O has (some) momentum....you go for it....if not > you're getting stuffed.....you punt it away > hope for a miracle
To save his JOB....and the season....Charlie needs to FIRE his buddy Bedford....and take over the D himself *his loyalty to his coaches....cost him a year plus on his O (Watson).....and now 2+ years on D.....(2015 D was one of the worst statistically in school history)............ *1st year was fine because he INHERITED some talented guys on D
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

I actually thought the were bashing Coach Strong because he was black and they were Texas boys. I was wrong. He is a terrible coach. he can recruit, he can play tough guy, but I saw numerous worse coaching decisions than punting with 1:30 left and that was a bad call.
I don't want to list all the bad decisions he made. Texas has waaaaay better recruits than California, way better. Reverse their roles, give the two coaches the opposite teams at the beginning of the year and Strong loses this same contest coaching the California team by a lot more points.
