Just asking public opinion on this? Liking n.dame to cover under the assumption bgsu wont score on n.dame's defense.
Better games out there.
Trust me - you never know with the Irish, and for sure they traditionally don't want to run it up. They tried not to against New Mexico - but the Lobos were just horrible that day. There are connections with the BGSU coaching staff, hence they win the $1 mill lotto ticket.
The BIGGEST game every 2 years at Notre Dame Stadium comes up next week with USC. Despite all of the problems at SC, Kelly knows they are loaded with talent and it would make their year to upset the Irish. So he will be pulling the starters way early.

I am strongly leaning towards a ND cover, not only based on your assessment of BG’s likely inability to score many points, but mostly on the matchup on the opposite side of the ball. BG’s defensive coordinator is Brian VanGorder who was fired from ND by Brian Kelly after 4 games into the 2016 season. He has statistically been running some of the worst defenses in college football in his last 3 seasons in coaching. At the time he was fired at ND, their defense ranked 101st of 130 in scoring D, 98th in yds/play and 103rd in Total defense. ND finished the year 62nd/42nd/42nd respectively without him. His next job was at Louisville last season...
128th scoring d/123rd yds per play/122nd total defense
He took over a Bowling Green defense that was almost as bad in 2018...
125th scoring/117th YPP/109th Total D
Fast forward to 2019...
BG ranks 120th in scoring D/121st in YPP
Louisville ranks 52nd in YPP
In their last game, BG gave up 750 yds to KENT STATE!!!
Throw into the mix that the relationship between VanGorder and Kelly sounds to be pretty stained from 2016 and I can see Kelly not taking it easy on VanGorder’s defense.
They are coming off of a bye week and if they change their QB from Darius Wade to Grant Loy, the offense could potentially be a little more productive, but I think there’s a better chance of ND winning by 60+ over not covering the -45/-46, though it’s always risky business counting on the Irish covering a huge spread.
FWIW, I live in Bowling Green and keep a close eye on the team and it’s been pretty ugly... Culture change in progress and a lot of underclassmen in the 2-deep.

1H, 1Q, or TT might be a better play. BG is abysmal... but like others have said, with USC on deck, ND might be content getting out 4-5 scores and just putting in the backups.
