Tide to Demolish Gators!

I have gators +8.5 and i know this guy that is 80-10 ats this year in college football and told me on paper the tide should win but tobad they don`t play this game on paper. He said everyone and there dog going to bet the tide blindly He said if the tide don`t get over a 100 yards rushing then the gator win this game....Also he said this is the best defence the tide going to see all year...He said this tide secondary has holes all over the place and if the gators open up the play book we mite see a upset saturday night.

Im not even arguing with you, thats the point. You are ASSUMING im an ignorant biased homer that thinks my team is going to win and cover every single game for the rest of all time. The thing is, if you say you haven't watched a team play every game, especially when they play the most young players in the nation, you are going to miss out on many things to learn and cap for, and the truth is as young as they are there really aren't many weaknesses. That defense is legit and soon it will be learned if it hasn't already, im not here to put anyone down but if they do it to me, hell Im good at being a prick and making people realize how they are treating me the same.

About the game, I can't be wrong if I am not playing a side. Apparently you missed where I have said numerous times that I think Alabama should win but UF is just plainly getting disrespected. Don't people know that UF has a MUCH MUCH better defense than Arkansas? The same team that held Bama to 7 for most of a game, hell their last TD came off of a gift Mallett gave them, bama only really established one drive the entire game where the screen pass capped it off. If you think Arkansas had a good defense, then there isn't much I can say then, they played zone and waited to lose, that is what really happened.

Also please don't start posting how much you are putting on a game money wise, its pointless and annoying.

What Arkansas did to Bama doesn't matter in this game. The Hogs defense was lucky and they had a lead with Mallett giving them a boost. If Mallett didn't give them a cushion to screw up. Like all of us Hog backers predicted. Bama would have blown them out by at least 17 points. Mallett and home field energy made that game closer than it actually was. Take Mallett out of the game? Think about what the game would have been without him? Very ugly.OK I will leave betting amounts out. I am not underestimating the Bama defense. They are OK not great. The weak teams Florida played make it hard for me to tell if it was the defense? Or the talent the faced? The Gators are replacing 6 or 7 players on defense. Those 6 players were responsible for a large percentage of the defensive responsibilities.  Maybe 40 percent of the Gator defense is gone.

I hope the Gators bring blitzes. Arkansas played off coverage a lot of the time. That leaves McElroy (who is completing 70% of his passes) with the Gators (What I think is the weakest part of their defense even though they have a lot of Int's) on an island one on one with Julio Jones. Jones should have a monster game. Richardson and Ingram are going to have a huge game against this highly rated rush defense that hasen’t been tested yet (I don’t count the laughable volunteers). McElroy has the arm to make the big throws and Jones is just the difference maker that could keep the Florida defense guessing.  If Florida keeps 7-8 guys in the box to stop Ingram and Richardson?  I see McElroy attacking to get the Gator defense to back off. Bama gets up early but the Gators rally back. The Gators will make me sweat in the end but are way overmatched to be able to pull this upset out in Bryant-Denny Stadium on primetime. 27-17 Bama covers the spread. That's my take. Even though i am just a degenerate.

Jweels86 make a response write up. What do you think is going to happen?

When you say that what Arkansas did a week ago doesn't matter but say what happened LAST year matters in a game is completely hypocritical, also to say the Hogs defense was "lucky". Also saying that without the teams most important player Mallett, well no shit the game would be different when a college team loses their most important player. Lets just take out Ingram and Richardson and see how that game would have played out. Sounds like a UK fan that said after the game "well if you take away Burton's 6 TD's we win the game" ... Most of the guys playing on Floridas defense played A LOT in 2 deep last year, and they haven't skipped a beat, they have been much better than Bama's defense or hell, any defense to start out the year. They are aggressive, they flood to the football and cause turnovers, the most in the nation in the secondary alone and its not even close. Florida IS going to stack the box and bring blitz after blitz, you know why? Because Mcelroy has NEVER shown he can win a game on his own with a defense attacking, the two times Bama got down last year at Auburn and already this year at Arkansas, both defenses are borderline GARBAGE. Thats real. Julio will have no way getting space on Jenkins, he might be able to win jump balls but he sure as hell won't out athletic him in any fashion. Jeremy Brown will be the one they pick on, but he has been fantastic so far, Kentucky's offense is really good this year and everyone will find out very soon and UF held them to as good as you can. This game relies solely on how well the Gators tackle, they missed almost 30, I said THIRTY tackles in Atlanta last year, and if Addazio opens it up and goes all out against the Bama D. The Gators are very capable of playing this team toe to toe, even with so many young guys. These kids and the UF players are not used to being told they will lose, the last time it happened... Well we all saw what the Gators did to OSU the last time they were outright Dogs...

Here's another prediction:  I have seen the Gators play and the defense is very aggressive.  When they get behind or are threatened they will start getting penalized.  Probably a bunch of offsides, interference and personal fouls.  Then the Gator fans will scream that the refs gave the game to Bama.  Watch and see!

I can see where you are coming from. This will be the 2nd best game of the season. The Hogs and Tide was the best game and most anticipated game for me this season. This game looks like it will be another exciting game. I can't wait. Can't believe the cards vs ducks game is on the same damn time? These 2 games are primetime big games. This sucks. I wish i could see them one at a time.

I think people over looked how good Ark. really is. + Playing on the road. I think Bama finds away to wil but it will be hard fought and closer then most may think   At the end of the day Roll Tide

I'll be honest I don't think I'm gonna bet this game.  That being said, while I think Bama will cover, don't be surprised to get shocked by this one.  Arkansas has a mediocre defense at best, and managed to hold Bama to 24 points.  Florida has arguably the best defense in the country and are gonna be fired up for this one after last year's SECCG disappointment.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Bama has had a ton of trouble getting to the QB this year.  That plays perfectly into the hands of Brantley who is a pure pocket passer.  Florida has plenty of weapons, and if Bama has as much trouble getting to Brantley as they did Mallet than you can reasonably expect Florida to put up close to if not more than 30 points.

Bottom line is that Bama is the best team in the country.  However, alot of people jumped off the Florida bandwagon this year purely because Tim Tebow is gone.  That being said Florida returned the vast majority of their starters from last year.  I think Bama barely covers, but I would not be shocked at all if Florida covered or even shocked the country.

Really?? Florida have only committed 28 penalties all year.  In case you aren't that into math thats an average of 7 a game.  Keeping the fact in mind that at least a third of those are on offense, Florida is probably one of the least penalized teams in the country.  Just because they play aggressive D doesn't mean they are going to commit penalties.  And I wouldn't expect too many interference penalties, Bama is gonna have to win this one on the ground, not on the arm of Mcelroy.

Florida has been a second half team so far this season.  In the first 4 games, Florida has scored 13, 31, 24, and 27 points in the second half of their games.  on the other hand, Bama has yet to give up a second half TD this year.  they have given up 0, 3, 0, and 3 points in the second half of their games.  Saban is the best at making adjustments.  Florida cant rely on gettting it done in the second half this week.  they have to come out strong to start this game.  this will be Brantley's first "big" game.  i dont have the exact # in front of me, but i remember hearing that Florida traveled with something like 42 freshman and redshirt freshman to Tennessee two weeks ago.  talented, yes, but this is a prime time nationally televised game on the road in front of what will be a ridiculous crowd.  i just dont see florida coming out strong in this game given those factors(plus their lack of first half success against Miami OH, South Florida, and Tennessee.  i expect Bama to jump on them early and put this game out of reach in the second half.  really like bama in this spot

Im thinking your they cover easily, but not sure about demolishing? The true freshman QB assuredly wont have 5 tds as last week, and I dont think Bama will lose again actually! GL this week BigUnit!

Florida at anything over a TD is a gift...it will come down to the wire and could go into overtime. This game is a toss-up. It is not inconceivable that Bama loses back to back games with South Carolina having the week off and at home next week against a mentally and physically tired team.

You predict the Tide to beat the Gators by the same margin they beat Penn State by?  I think the game will be a little closer than a 21 point margin....maybe 24-20 like last weekend?

 jwheels im a big gator fan too and i was sick to my stomach watching this game last year..everyone thinks dey kno what they're talkin about but in my eyes if Florida and Bama were to play that game 10 times Florida wouldve won at least 8 out of the 10, kids that watch one game and they think they know everything about football, makes me sik..it was jus Bamas night and everything was goin right for them, the D didnt look prepared and Tebow was on the sideline the whole time..i jus dont think they were mentally prepared for that game and it showed big time after that look at what they did to Cinci in the bowl game idc if Kelly left, they completely man handled them bcuz they were pissed  bout losing the SEC title game..ill be rootin hard for our Gators this weekend and hope they can pull off the upset, getting no respect! our D will suprise the nation dz Sat and show em what to look foward to in a couple years as i think theyll be the #1 D in 2 years and top 5 nex year..we will not get blown out like everyone is preaching

lol id give 5:1 that they BOTH dont rush over 100 yds vs dz D..the Gator D is top to bottom the fastest D in the nation, they are young and full of pride no way they're gonnah get embarrassed on National tv like that
