Pitt will suck but Florida St is overrated every year & their ATS record on the road can't be very profitable in recent years, don't confuse Jimbo as being a big time coach either, he isn't

If the freshman QB is a superstar in his first game then you may cover, otherwise it won't be a fun wager

I'd look at under or maybe even Pitt, pass on the Noles laying that number despite Pitt blowing in most facets

&#xD;&#xA;wahoo - I understand best records and tendencies should be factored in, but isn&#x27;t this a new team?  the noles have a new more aggressive DC going against a marginal QB in Savage,  It appears that WR Street is their only quality playmaker.   FSU is superior at every single position.  In addition, Pitt&#x27;s D Ratings seems a bit inflated playing a marginal big east schedule.  Finally, Florida State has a week off after this game prior to a home game against marginal and rebuilding Nevada.   So no lookahead.   In addition, though FSU was 0-5 ATS as a 35road favorite last year, they were 5-2 as a road favorite in 2010 and 2011.    Pitt did impress with a close loss to N Dame last year.   I think that scare will motivate FSU to execute, to put it out of reach early, and with the off week, keep executing and getting Winston reps.   &#xD;&#xA;Florida State     35&#xD;&#xA;Pitt 10

The biggest problem with backing pitt in this game is pitt's offense having to move the ball on state's defense. It just isn't gonna happen consistently. And that will translate into lots of short fields for.the frosh Winston. He won't have to be stellar in this game for Florida state to cover. Their defense should and will do it on their own. On every level Florida state's defense has a playmaker capable.of scoring and/or making a game changing play. Factor that with their backfield and i think it is gonna translate into a 34-10 type game. Even if Jimbo calls the game very conservative (which i think he probably will) it isn't gonna matter in terms of covering.

Was a logical explanation for the dog cover in all those cases.   what do you think about this FSU v Pitt matchup.   I think you have to consider the respective matchup prima facie and see if the logic of the Monday trend regarding dogs holds water.

LonghornHoosier - I rarely would consider laying 10 points on the road and this game is not one of those occasions. I also do not have the courage to back Pitt here so I'm sitting this one out.
I just threw that stat out there because there does seem to be some strange dynamic with the dogs playing exceptionally well in these monday night openers.
Sorry if I wasted your time by posting a stat that you weren't interested in.
