Toledo really has to be deflated that their mac title hopes were squashed by NIU. Not to mention their defense has to be utterly demoralized giving up 63 f'ing points. i'm not laying double digits with a defense that just got absolutely shredded like that, and again, toledo has a team has to be deflated. here comes western off a bye and with a qb who can sling it around the yard. they've played pretty well on the road for the most part so given the circumstances, i'll take the points here.
Western Michigan +12
Equally, NIU is fresh off a lackluster defensive performance themselves, giving up 589 yards of total offense and 60 points. While the 60 points allowed are a season high, Northern Illinois surrenders a MAC-high 35.6 points per game and ranks next-to-last in the 13-team league by giving up 449.8 yards per game. NIU offense is pretty nasty though, so I'm a bit worried about going against harnish and co. but Bowling Green is jekyl and hyde team that has had 2 weeks to reflect on a bad loss and then come out at home and beat the best in the league. BG plays well at home, they destroyed morgan st., lost by 1 to wyoming, lost by 7 to toledo and beat temple. they are capable, will they put it together? who knows, but i'll take the points with a team coming off a very emotional win and bad defense laying points.
