Tulsa/UCF

At home, UCF likes to pound the ball on the ground, and has had success doing it, averaging 268.3 rushing yards per game there.  Tulsa’s defensive performance really hasn’t changed much on the road, but they have been gauged by the pass away from home, giving up an average of 292.5 yards per game. 

Offensively, I think UCF will be able to put up some big rushing numbers, while still being able to exploit Tulsa’s suspect pass defense.  When teams put up at least 100 yards rushing and 200 yards passing against Tulsa, they score an average of 35 points.  UCF is averaging 182 and 238, respectively.  Factor in how well UCF runs at home and how poorly Tulsa defends the pass on the road and I think you have a recipe for success.  Granted, some of Tulsa's numbers may be inflated due to Tulsa playing 3 top tier BCS programs.  However, the other 3 games in which Tulsa has allowed these totals (Rice, UAB, North Texas), they have allowed an average of 21 points.  If UCF puts up 20+ points, they have the defense to make it stand up. 

Agreed, their schedule has been subpar, but 5th in defensive rush yards and pass yards in all of FBS is still pretty impressive.  Just take a look at the other teams in the top 10 of those two categories. 

Rush: Bama, Cincy, LSU, FSU, UCF, Stanford, VA Tech, GA, UCONN, and Utah

Pass: Mich St, Bama, SC, Wis, UCF, Boise, FL, Penn St, LSU, Ill

If it were an easy thing to do based on quality of opponent all the dregs of the MAC and Sun Belt would be in there.

fuck!  Originally I liked UCF but after reading this in depth analysis, I migh have to switch!  I stick to my theory.  When post like these where people talk like they know the team and throwing in all the stats, 99% of the time they are wrong.  Want proof?  go back to my previous posts ...and take the most recent one last night!

ONCE again my theory was right.  fade the person that write these indepth.  Simple login behind it:  Majority wanna-be-expert will think the same as well.

Not to direspect in anyways, I do appreciate these write up more than you guys can imagine.  It provides me the crucial mindset behind what majority like/dislike.
