Hey guys, as the season progresses, it always seems to come down to having critical information at the right time.
For example, I remember back 07', my buddy was at the Emerald Bowl where Oregon State played Maryland. Prior to the game, I stayed in constant communication with him about the status of Oregon State's star running back whom was questionable for the game. He told me that the running back was warming up and practicing for the game. Oregon State was favored by 5 1/2. Having this information prior to the game, I placed the wager on Oregon State and they won 17-10, winning by 7 and covering by 1 1/2 points.
How many times have you made a bet only to find out that a star player was not playing in that game, unbeknownst to you? Or another time when a player that wasn't supposed to play, suits up and has a huge impact on a game? Or if a skill position player was playing well in warms up or the kicker was hitting all of his kicks, etc. Or the weather was humid or it started snowing, etc.
Wouldn't it be great if we could use Twitter and get live updates from people tweeting live from the game? For example, if Tim Tebow or Percy Harvin was injured and someone at the game was seeing them either warming up or not and how that person looked.
Collectively, as college football investors, we need to leverage these types of technologies to get a substantial edge in real-time from trusted sources. Imagine if we had reliable sources from around the country tweeting into a college football handle that we could all be following?
What are your thoughts about this idea? I found a college football handle on Twitter @: Lv_NCAA_FOOTBLL
If everyone thinks this is a good idea, we can start our own. What do you think about this idea? I'd like to know what you think are the pros and cons. Obviously, the first that comes to mind if we can trust and rely on the information that people are tweeting. What else?

Rickey, I have to hand it to you, that is the first idea someone has come up with for Twitter that I actually care about. Am I the only person who doesn't a give a damn what other people are doing every minute of the day? Maybe I'm just getting too old.

TripleOption - that's the thing, I like you didn't really understand what Twitter was all about. Then I jumped on their to better understand how to make use of it as a business tool. And actually, it's an amazing business tool if you are in sales.
Then the idea started to click, what if we leveraged this as a means of getting real time information from people all over the country? People who had similar interests to us in college football investing and that we could trust? A collective team of people helping each by updating the handle.
We still have to put our minds together and figure out how we do it. We should probably setup a general account that represents us like: Wagerline_college_football_group
And then, setup an account for each school. Whoever decides to represent the school at each game and tweet information into the account pre and during the game, we give them the user id and password to.

Rickey, you got an email address? not a big fan of covers bc people write a lot of BS but you seem like a good person to bounce thoughts/game lines off of, and get some honest feedback to keep me away from trap games. i dont post a lot on here but wouldnt mind working with someone seperately.

Ok, I have setup the forum on Twitter. If you want to connect, the handle is:
Covers_CF_Forum
NOW, we are looking for a network of representatives, aka Stringers, that will be at their home university's games to report or tweet into this forum for real-time information.
What would be optimal is if you sign up for twitter using your School's name, like Ball_State_Steven, for example, or Navy_Football_Marty
Also, you are going to want to make it extensible to your tweet from your cell phone's texting capability. This will be key so you can send real-time text messages right from your phone.
***Warning, if you post non-sense or BS information or balantly lie, then you will blocked from posting onto this forum on twitter. Looking for a legitamate network of people that can help one another win...thank you***

The this is you have a bunch of guys that work for the other side & will give false information, so its gonna be difficult to decipher the real info from the false. Your idea can work really well if we can stop the enemy from adding false info.

I agree with you PrimeTimeBoys. I guess it's going to have to be an honor system. The people that are posting legitamate information will be allowed to stay on. The ones that are posting BS, will be blocked.

I think it's a great idea Rickey. But as you guys mentioned, I'm sure some people who don't care about making money and care about being "cool" online because they never had a friend or saw a pair of tits in their life will try and ruin it. I never realized how many lonely people their actually are in this world until Internet message boards were created.

I'm in Northern California, so I can tweet Cal, Stanford and San Jose State games, if I go.
What about rest of you? What region are you from and how can you contribute to the collective network of college football resources we can become to one another?

A friend described Twitter to me as a tool for following something you are passionate about. Well I can tell you that I am passionate about college football investing and winning at it.
Handle on twitter is:
Covers_CF_Forum
I just started this user name today so it may take a day or two before you are able to find it through 'find people' search tool.
Don't give up if you can't find it right away...try back in a couple days.
I think we are really on to something.

I know this sounds kind of paranoid, but what if the feds get on there, and decide to get your information. I don't know about you, but I don't want the IRS to know I am gambling.
Anyone think that is plausible?

6figure - i would say that if the feds really wanted to follow us, they could be doing it right here and why not? There are dudes talking all kinds of madness about wagering college ball. My two cents man. The twitter thing is just an exchange of information in real-time about something you are passionate about, which in our case is college ball - exactly what it was meant for!
