UCF VS TEMPLE Thoughts?

Milton will play 100%. No way he sits this one out. He could have played against ECU if they had needed him. Temple 8 straight covers as visitor in this battle for 1st in AAC east. I bet temple last year in blowout win for UCF, but temple actually outgained UCF on offense. (396/368)They got screwed by 4 turnovers by now backup QB Nutile. Ball control for temple is key to keeping this UCF offense off the field. This is a UCF team that I don’t think is nowhere near as good as last year. Losing 4 players to the NFL will do that. (Shaq griffin, Jordan Adkins, mike Hughes, trequan smith) Is this the week UCF goes down?

i agree. also look at the strength of schedule who has UCF really played? they got VERY lucky against memphis and should've lost that game.other than that, pitt, fau, sc st? metrics don't do this team justice because they beat the crap out of horrible teams.

temple has had to bang with cincy, navy, bc, and buffalo. the losses they did take this season all would've covered this spread. i like temple to cover here with a strong road ATS record as of recent. i would like to hear reasons why UCF should cover, though

Temple is second in the AAC and 18th in the country with 24 total sacks. Roche, and Franklin each have three sacks, and wreak havoc in the backfield. UCF has allowed just nine sacks. The Knights start two juniors and two seniors along the offensive line.

A lot will depend on Russo and the kind of game he has. I suspect that he will have a good one based on who they are playing.

Milton is the key factor though... I will wait to get a status on him before making my play...

Temple is the only way to look here. I think SECFanatic's and Ol Dirty's assessments are spot on. Also agree with Tappy that Russo has to have a decent game but mainly he just needs to stay within himself and take care of the ball, no costly turnovers like last year. Ball control with the rushing attack to make the UCF offense have to sit for spells.The Owls D should be fine and get plenty of heat on Milton.

UCF is a couple notches below last years team in imo. Milton maybe not 100% is a bonus here for Owls backers.

SECF noted the 8-0 ats road dog record, 2-0 this year. Temple has a long history as a road dog, 25-12 ats last 37.

Owls stay in touch the whole way. Take.

Of the few Temple games I&#x27;ve watched, their D looks great. &#xA; &#xA;Doesn&#x27;t matter. They&#x27;ll still get smoked. UCF by 21.

Temple defense doesn&#x2019;t look very good against the pass. They leave so much space in the secondary that it&#x2019;s hard to see them stopping ucf passing attack. They may contain Killins because he&#x2019;s just too small, but if they don&#x2019;t play their gaps on the screens? There&#x2019;s nobody on Temple that matches up with his speed and Snelson. Absolutely nobody. The big problem is that ucf gives up huge passing plays, but I don&#x2019;t know if Russo is ready. He is a talented young qb, but against a fast team it&#x2019;s about recognition of zones. He might get frustrated and start checking down. Armstead is solid and I expect him at 100% after resting for so long. I just think Henderson was a better back that ucf faces and adjusted to. Tough game for sure and now with the total at 58? darn it, take the over.

1)Temple ranks 4th nationally in yards per play on defense behind miami, michigan and clemson

2)Temple leads nation in pass yards per play allowed. 2nd best in passing efficiency and S&P ranks them #1 vs pass

3)Temple # 1 in defending explosiveness and pass explosiveness as well as #1 in big play rate

4) Temple #3 in redzone defense
