***USC -7 *** ****5K WAGER****

Ok. Read some interesting comments on why I post the ticket. Just trying to add some legitimacy to my wagers. It really doesn't matter if you're betting $50 or $5000. Personally, I don't respond much to guys who say they're wagering 40K on a game, (and of course, they never post a ticket). I mentioned in yesterday's thread that I am having a bad six weeks. So there's no boasting on my end; trust me. Just keeping things real and hoping to catch a good run with the bowl games. Rutgers was my first bowl game wager and I'm trying to stay positive.

I like SC tonight. This was the first game that caught my eye when the early lines were posted. Opened here weeks ago at -6. I bet it this morning at 10AM pst at -7. Buying the hook would have cost me 30 cents. No thanks! 

This game is much much bigger for Steve Sarkisian than it is for Mike Riley. Riley's claiming he's just going to watch it and let Barney Cotton try to show UNLV what he can do. SERIOUSLY? He's UNLV's new OC. Does he even want to be in San Diego tonight? WOW! 

I do know that the majority of Nebraska's players loved playing for Pelini and were upset when he was fired. Now they have to play for Barney Fife as he's on his way to a new University starting tomorrow. Just don't get it!

Sark on the other hand has a lot to prove. He gets all of his scholarships back for next year. Might not seem like much, but losing 10 scholarships a year for 3 years at a 75 player max is significant. I'm sure he'll tell you. 

I believe SC is the best 8-4 team in the country. A dumbfounding lazy lose at BC, a last second Hail Mary lose at ASU, a final drive TD with 6 seconds left at Utah for a 3rd lose and finally a good old fashioned azz kicking at the hands of UCLA. This team could have been 11-1. I know, I know, you can say that about all 120 Division 1 teams. But I believe the drubbing they put on a weak Notre Dame team changed things for this squad. 

Playing in San Diego doesn't really help SC that much. USC's fan base doesn't travel well. Nebraska's fan base always travels well. But they're out here a little early to celebrate New Year's Eve next week. I give Nebraska ZERO chance at keeping this game competitive. They'll be trying every gimmick play ever invented tonight. Should be fun watching 1st quarter on-side kicks, fake field goal - statue of liberty plays, fake punt/pass/run plays on their own 30, going for 2 for no reason. Honestly, I can't wait. Sark knows this is coming. He's a good X's and O's guy and I'm betting he's prepared his team for tonight's game. SC simply wants this game MUCH MORE!

What the hell do I know? I'm a gambler for Christ Sakes. I'll take my chances with the Trojans. Looking for Traveler to run up and down that sideline a lot tonight.
