Was the SEC the most overrated conference ever?

Everyone wanted to give them praise during the season...but I&#x27;ve said for a long time that I didn&#x27;t think they were that good.The bowl games are certainly proving that.

They have great defenses for sure...but were 2 years late to the offensive zone read movement.I think Oregon kicks the crap out of either of these teams.

Amari Cooper is clearly the best player in the conference, but they had ZERO quarterbacks that will play at the next level.

Alabama - Loss

Mississippi St - Loss

Ole Miss - Loss

Georgia - Win

Missouri - Win

Auburn - Loss

LSU - Loss

With the playoff format SEC will be exposed moving forward. Other top conference teams are as good as any top SEC team. SEC lives on the nonsense believe that playing other SEC teams is tough enough and that's enough ticket to every championship game.

See i dont feel it was THIS year where it shifted to offense. This conf has had alot of high scoring big games the last few years. Not the bama lsu games but alot of the other ones. They are all shootouts.

Previously we&#x27;d be looking at yet another undeserving Alabama team in the national championship game. SEC teams start useless pre-season polls high and it&#x27;s almost impossible for other deserving teams to climb up to the top two. An EIGHT team playoff is when a true national champion will be delivered from someday.

You&#x27;re actually exactly right. There is still probably more NFL ready talent in the SEC than any other conference this year. The difference is that it&#x27;s diluted between more teams than ever. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and LSU have fewer blue chips than usual, but the Mississippi schools, Missouri, and even Tennessee and Kentucky have a few more. It&#x27;s called parity.
