Starting with Thursday night games, with the weekend to come in a day or two.
Boise St @ UCF
Two programs with new head coaches leaves a lot to be desired about what these teams look like, but if we use the past as a barometer, Malzahn will utilize his weapons. starting with Dillon Gabriel. Whom he is throwing to though, is a question mark. Boise St returns 17 starters from last year and they will contend for the MWC, but with their secondary being suspect, I'm on the Knights at -4.5.
ECU @ Appy St.
ECU wasn't very good last year, but showed signs of things to come with a win over Temple and then an unexpected drubbing of SMU. They return 10 guys on each side of the ball, so looking to keep that train rolling from last years end. Appy St also is bringing back plenty of talent, and heavy on transfers, but three new OL getting starts, scares me a little, especially early on. I'll take the Pirates and the 10.5.
USF @ NC St
USF is bad. Real bad. Not UCONN or UMASS bad, but they aren't good. That was kind of expected though as it was the first year with a new coach, no spring workouts, etc. So this year is almost like year 1 for Coach Scott. They have a long way to go before things will get excited in South Florida. NC St on the other hand could be a surprise in the ACC. The D struggled last year, but return 10 starters with a DL that ranks near the top in the country. The offense welcomes back Finley with his top 3 targets, and backs from last year. They should feast on the USF defense and their DLine will be in the back field all night. Wolfpack -18.5
I also lean Ohio St, but due to having no QB on the team that has thrown a collegiate pass, I'm going to wait and see what this team looks like before wagering on them.

I am with you on NC State...However, NC State normally does not win by large margins, and that concerns me. Supposedly this is Doeren's best team. Ironically, the new USF QB, took this NC State team to OT while playing at NC in 2018. NC State needs to finally open a can of whoop a$$ on a bad team, if it wants any national respect. GL

These first games can be tuff to cap. Boise/UCF both consistently field competitive teams, APP ST always under the radar but they just win, and the local team here for me USF, lost all their top players at the skill positions, but former Clemson assistant Jeff Scott will build a winning program for the Bulls at some point in time. GL in your plays and go HEELS!

USF will def be back, but its gonna take a couple tough pills to swallow first. And I'm really only a Heels hoops fan, but can jump on the football program bandwagon too (when my money is on them of course).

I'm not a huge proponent of laying 30+ points for anyone really, but this spot looks to be favorable. Last year Wake returned 2 starters on offense and put up 36 PPG. This year they return everyone. Talk about a well oiled machine. ODU on the other hand, well, no one really knows. They didn't play last year (possible blessing in disguise), return 3 starters on an already bad defense, and coach still looking for his first win in collegiate ball. This is one of those 66-10 games. Deacons -31.
Michigan St @ Northwestern
I look for a typical, ugly, Big 10 game here. Cats return 4 starters from each side of the ball, off their Big 10 West champions team. But having to replace a lot of last years production, doesn't bode well. Not that Michigan St is in a much better spot in the "talent" field, but at least they aren't starting from the ground level. Return 9 starters on O and 7 on D, from a team that beat this NW team last year. I'll take Sparty +3

I'm actually a TarHeel hoops degenerate, not so much football, but I do like what Mack Brown has going over there. I think the days of going into Blacksburg on a Friday night being one of the worst things a road team could face, are over. But they also haven't been able to attend a game there is 2 years so first night back may be just what Fuentes and crew need to pull the upset. I'll probably stay away, cause I think UNC should be more like 8-9 pt favs, so the short line scares me. I'd play VA Tech or nothing.

As for most seasons, I'll be playing lots of Big 10 unders that don't involve OSU, but I want to wait a couple weeks to see what plays out. Gun to head, I'd play the under in this one.

Louisville has the offense to keep this one close enough. Ole MIss couldn't stop anyone last year, and until they show they can, I'm gonna fade them. No head coach doesn't help the situation either. Birdnals +9
