I would stay away from Alabama is games like this...Sure, they could beat them by 80 if they wanted to, but they won't. Bama is #1, just destroyed USC, and are getting ready for the SEC slate. They have no need to prove anything to anyone... GL

The type of offense WK runs gives Bama a lot more problems than the type of offense USC runs. Obviously, USC has better athletes, but WK will have a better offensive game plan (ie, not trying to overpower Bama at the line of scrimmage).

Maybe these things are true but how are they going to stop Alabama's run game? I know it is games like this, I am no square. This has to be a 63-10 type of game... Even if they experience moderate success with the wide receiver screen you give them 17 points. No way they hold Alabama under 45.

Going into this season, Bama was 27-28 vs the spread over the previous 4 seasons. From a gambler's prospective, they're just another team. They seem to cover more often than not in the high profile games, so logic says these are the best spots to fade if you must play the game. BOL

With the defense they have this year, I would think they will could very well shut out Western Kentucky, and they can name there score. I am seriously considering playing Alabama for this reason. Let down game, not about to happen with Saban.

How is WKU going to stop the run? Even if they give them 17 points it means they must score 45 and I think they do that easily... they can name the score is correct.

The team total might be nice but I already put my bet in at -28. I smell another complete blowout even though it could be a let down game after SC, I think even in a letdown situation the cover the 28 based on talent alone. Alabama should be able to rack up a huge total on the ground. The may average 7 yards a rush before this one is over.

Difference is....Alabama can save its energy....let some second string play, try some things because they shouldnt have to worry about their Power4 status whereas teams like OSU and MICH, etc. are hammering other teams to raise their rank/profile....so Bama will not be motivated and peeved to pile it on.....USC really got under their skin with smacktalk and letting Bama know they were gonna hang around the whole game....I was watching that closely and wisely took Bama and over in the second half once I saw the hackles in Bama start to get their juices going......WKY will not get their juices going so no reason to cover a now -29.5.and besides, Saban doesnt like doing this against a non rival because a lot of these games are set up to benefit both programs and why close a door on a good non-conf matchup in the future by playing aggro?
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

Saban will not allow his players to let down. The man is the best in the business. I would be very surprised with the defense that Alabama has this year that Western Kentucky scores 10 points, and the offense of the Crimson Tide can name there score.

Tough spot here for Bama ......sandwich game between last weeks route over USC, and next weeks matchup against Ole Miss, who has beaten the Tide the last two seasons...Typically these are the games that Bama struggles with covering the line, and this time should be no different....Western Kentucky will be a much tougher task, than USC was last week...especially offensively.... The Hilltoppers bring back everyone offensively, along with a JUCO quarterback from California who has a lot of talent.... Offensively, they will stretch the field vertically, and then hit you with every possible screen play under the sun.... They throw quick routes, eliminating the Bama pass rush, and with all the screens, keeps the Bama linemen moving up and down the line laterally, forcing the defense to probably substitute even more than normal.... Plus everyone knows Saban doesnt like to run the score up on inferior oponents ..... No play for me

definitely feels like a game to avoid taking a side on. Keep in mind tho that ALA still wants to get their young QB more reps, so I think they will be incentivized to take the game seriously for a good part of it.

how does everyone feel about bama winning by 19. i want to put them in a 10 point teaser. If they are only up by 14 or so going into the 4th no way saban pulls the starters. i feel he would have to be up by 28 going into the 4th to put the 2nd string in

Or 63-10 or something. I don't know. Staying away.
One time I faded Bama in a perfect spot against Charleston Southern and it cost me a $16K parlay. I was getting 40.5 points or something. Bama hadn't won by more than 40 in pretty much the entire of their 2010's dynasty. One turnover too many.
Look at the 2nd half box score. Bama just not interested. Ch-So shot themselves in the foot with special teams and turnovers. Otherwise enough clock gets chewed up to keep this within 40.

Epic sandwich spot.
Bama up 28-6 at the Half.
Bama wins the game 38-13.
