Hard to argue any time you fade Duke......this ain't basketball season, yet, and the old ball coach ain't there anymore to score points for that sorry ass team.
 
Nah, no locks at all, though.
 
Maryland is rough as a disrespected dog----pulled some HUGE upsets in the past.  They're at home, in early game, playing a west coast team that the public loves......

Maryland is "pond scum"....It's rare that you hear them referred to in such disparaging terms....Most years they're tough at home against good teams.....

To cover 14 with the blessing of the public, Cal had better be on point for 60 full minutes.
 
I do know that their coach, Jeff Telford, is a gd pitt bull----so preparation and intensity from him won't be a problem, but can his team play guns blazing for 60 minutes?  14 is an assload of points for a west coast team, early, on the road, against an east team, and the public is all over the chalk.
 
Too much for me, man.

Take Mich.St. -17, Spartans will overpower FAU. They have the ground game going and FAU will have a hard time moving the ball in a heavy downpour.

I like Cal by at least 21 today, this one will get ugly early for md.  md is living off their name right now, they are not as tough as previous years IMO

If Cal's players play like Jeff Telford is, then yes, they will cover.  That guy is an animal, and no one talks about him.
 
But it's "California Berkley, man."  Laid back dudes who don't get all worked up.
 
You got to be all worked up to cover 14 in this game.
 
Put a jersey on Telford.

14 nil Maryland midway through Q1.

Had a feeling Cal backers were going to get pressured.

Was too chicken sheet to play Maryland ATS, and now I feel like a clown.

The deal is this.....Maryland came ready to play football, and Cal didn't.
 
To cover 14 points against major teams on the road, you better play your ass off for 60 minutes.......just way too much room for error with a 14 point spread.
 
Cal may not even win this game, let alone cover 14.
