One thing we know for sure is that Vegas does not feel confident that Oklahoma wins this game. If they felt confident that Oklahoma would cover or win, then they would have just let the line stay at -3, collect more money on Florida and made a killing with a Oklahoma win. However, they now have moved the line so much that a great middle opportunity has put them at a huge RISK.
Ok, So, we all know that Vegas does try to get equal action on both sides when setting a line. And if it was a perfect world, they would, however, sometimes they screw up a little and come out with a line like they did for this National Championship Game.
Why do I think they screwed up? Because the line came out at -1.5 (this is what I heard, even though I never saw) or -3 and it is now at -6 at one of my books.
Seems to me that Vegas is desperately trying to get Oklahoma money because they feel like Florida is going to cover, but not only cover, cover big time. Why cover bigtime? Because, if Vegas thought this cover was going to be close, they would not RISK getting pounded by a middle.
I would like some input on what people think about Vegas opening up themselves for a huge middle. Is that a bigger Risk than just leaving it at -3? It is if Vegas thinks this game is close...
