The option to click the, "you can always switch back to what you're used to", is not accessible, so we are stuck with the new forum view. is this going to be permanent?

The old forums have not been removed. I spoke with someone earlier about this exact issue and they had to disable the AdBlocker they were running as it appeared to be interfering with the layout of the site and preventing them from clicking on that link. That may be an option in the short term for you as well. We have sent a note to IT and will post an update when we hear back, likely tomorrow.

life is full of difficult choices, covers team. please don't make one of them deciding whether to disable ad blocker and destroy my computer or use your new layout. lol. thanks for the quick response. i hope we can get this resolved quickly!

I AGREE
i agree. it's clunky and messy. lots of applications don't fit on the screen of my laptop or phone, (like when i click on the little emoji's on a laptop, half the emoji's are cut off because they're not fit to the screen. the new layout also doesn't hold very many pages of threads vs. the old one, which is really making you sure and dig for threads. what would be helpful for this is maybe the search to go back to how it was, because it is near impossible to search for anything under their new search bar, which can also be used only under the new format

there's a little "forum updates" icon that someone recently inserted into the new layout. it appears that is the only thing you can click on for the length and width of the screen where the "forum updates" is located. i opened the new layout up into the browse all forums view, and then scrolled down a bit so the "forum updates" icon was lined up next to the soccer forum link. because of this, i couldn't click on the soccer forum to enter. i had to scroll up or down so the "forum updates" link was not lined up congruently with it. i think once that icon is removed, we will be able to click on the "switch back" link. i don't think it has anything to do with ad blocker.
ct - if this doesn't make sense, i can send you screen shots of what i mean

Hi Baztid,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Forum updates link has been fixed which should technically allow you to click on the switchback again on top of the forum page. Please test and let us know if the issue persists.
In relation to your other feedback about the emojis not fitting on the screen, can you please let us know about your:
- Device: e.g. Laptop/desktop/Tablet
- Browser: e.g. Chrome/IE/Firefox/Safari
- Browser Version: e.g. Version 77.0.3865.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)
- Screen Resolution: e.g. 1920x1080
- Have you tried this in incognito with all of your plugins (including Ad. blocker) turned off. Once We receive the above info, we can investigate this further.
We understand the mobile layout is different from what you are used to but these changes have been made to ensure everyone on no matter what size screen can enjoy our forum and to also ensure our forum is in compliance with accessibility requirements.
The new forum actually fits more threads or posts on the screen than the old forum on desktop. The only reason you can see more posts on a mobile device is because the content is completely zoomed out due to not having a specific layout for set screen sizes. This makes it harder for new users to navigate around the forum because the links are simply too small to click on without having to zoom in.
We are actively working on a new and better search functionality for the new forum and hope to have it in front of you guys soon.
If you have any other feedback about the new forum, we would love to hear it. We no longer support the old forum and all updates and new features will only work on the new forum so we want to do our best to make sure the new forum works for everyone.
Thank you
