Subscribe to thread help

When I sub to a thread, I get emails everytime someone posts in the thread.  I only care about when the original poster posts a reply.  Is there a way to view just this, or am I stuck getting notified for every reply?

Apologies for the delay in response on this. You could follow the specific user, but I believe that only send emails when they create a new thread, not when they make a post in a thread that has already been created. Unfortunately there wouldn't be an option for your specific request of getting an email for when that specific user makes a post in the followed thread.

I will bring this up with the devs to see if it is an addition that can be added when following a thread, etc.

 I am not getting email notifications even though A) I am subscribed to threads and B) in my account settings it says I am set up to receive email notifications.  Any trouble shooting tips?

I actually have this same problem years later. Anyone have ideas on what I can do? I've tried both selecting and unselecting the boxes and I am also subscribed to the thread I want updates on.
