Why did you  move USC_Homely's lock thread to the penalty box?

This is going to PISS OFF MANY OF YOUR MEMBERS!

Please explain.

I agree with Mozart, at least an explanation and some transparency would help, the guy started something good and much needed and he is new here, so if he committed some violation simply speak with him resolve it and move on, there must be a better way than this bogus method, thanks for your time

Thanks guys.  I would love to just explain to a Covers moderator to explain my intentions here.  I am just trying to start a thread where people help each other out.

Does anyone know how to start a discussion with a Covers moderator?

Just a daily thread with people posting their strongest plays, and the OP is going to track the results.  Good thread for sharing info and expertise on certain games/teams/leagues.

Was it the "L" word that did it?  I know that word is frowned upon, but it's clear in thread that everyone knows there is no such thing.

Anyway, I think it's a great idea and so far has been met with positivity by most posters.

Maybe there is a middle ground?

wow very disappointing to see that thread moved to the box.

CT - why is this thread moved to the box? There is no touting going on and USC is just creating a thread for everyone to provide their best plays with write-ups to help the community out instead of a million individual threads with bull sh1t record. This provides accountability and a place to bounce ideas off one another. 

Please move this back to CBB or at least provide an explanation on what rules are being violated here? Absolutely ridiculous

Thank you!  I am not "up to anything" and, while I am new here, I have been running a huge thread for years elsewhere.  I maybe 't understand the Covers rules yet, but my intentions are merely to create a thread where people can help each other out.  People have told me it was because I used the work "LOCK" (even though it is just a term and not anything nefarious) or because I mentioned the now-defunct CBS message boards?  The reason I am over here is because CBS closed their boards.  If that is the reason, I will gladly stop putting those 3 letters together here on Covers from here on out.

Have followed USC Holmey since the CBS days. My sources told me this thread popped up on covers so I got excited, made an account and I looked today, and it's already in trouble. Smh. #FreeHolmey

Hey Dark!  Thanks for stopping by.  I am hoping this gets resolved by Covers.  They seem to be a lot more interactive than the mods at our old site.  Good to see you!

The lifeblood of the LOCK Thread is to attract new people to post by randomly finding the thread.  Do you know when it might be moved back to the CBB board?  If I have been doing something against the rules, I will edit what I post from here on out.

Ok, so I have spoken to the mods and the reasoning is exactly what you guys suspected. Using the word "Lock" is a very touchy subject, and we try to keep users from using it to avoid provoking users to bump.

The thread itself seems harmless and appears to be a positive environment for the users. You may post in the CBB forum, please refrain from using the word at all and you should have no issues.

Oh man.  Its the "LOCK Thread" and has been since 2006.  Its a totally harmless term that means nothing except your absolute best of your best plays.

Man.  This stinks.  Its a meaningless word.

Although it may seem like a minor thing. We do deal with users who are 100% new to sports betting, and people do sometimes take these terms literally.

Truth of the matter is, there is no such thing as a lock and we all know that, but some people do not.

Can I use it if in the OP each day I define it as a loose term and not a literal interpretation?  It seems so lame to call it "The L Thread".....

You clearly did not get the point here. The word LOCK is not to be used at all, so spelling it differently or abbreviating it is not going to fix the problem.

Don't use the word, and your posts will not get moved. It's that simple!

I suggest to come up with an alternate word other than "lock" -- "love" is a good one, though it won't fly here.

"Wise Guys" might be a good one.

I went to the Thesaurus and looked up synonyms of the word, good, and found the word, "ace" ... that could be a good one.

Brother, it's simple, use any other word apart from LOCK.  That word ain't the reason why people will be contributing to the thread.  Move on.
