Why are there imbedded ads at the top and sides of the page now?

Never seen these before and yes I use Adblocker Plus. These ads are screwing up the layout of the pages and causing major lag when typing responses or creating new threads.

Can someone please reply as to what&#x27;s going on here? Data, cache, and browsing history clearing aren&#x27;t doing anything to get rid of these ads.Doesn&#x27;t matter which browser you use either (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc.) these embedded ads have taken over everywhere at top, bottom, and sides of pages and Adblock doesn&#x27;t stop them.

I know exactly what you&#x27;re talking about. I saw your comment about this in the baseball section tonight and figured I&#x27;d reply here instead. Bottom line, this site has major stability issues and has lots of things working in its background which cause all sorts of problems for the end user. One of those problems being, this site can often crash your adblock program. And I think what you&#x27;re describing that you&#x27;re seeing are those annoying AdChoice ads which are still somehow making it through to your browser despite your adblock program working perfectly fine on every other site you visit.Did I summarize that correctly? Your situation happens to me rather frequently here and sometimes what I&#x27;ll do is uninstall and then reinstall whatever adblock program I&#x27;m using at the time, clear all browser history and data, and then do a full shutdown. If that still doesn&#x27;t fix the problem at that point (which it often doesn&#x27;t unfortunately), I&#x27;ll try installing a different adblock program just to switch things up. And oddly enough, that has actually temporarily solved the issue on occasion... until the same problem eventually pops up again.Overall it&#x27;s a very annoying problem when using this site since this is the only site which has ever caused problems to any of the major popular adblock programs everyone uses. If you look at some of the other threads in this Help section, you&#x27;ll see a lot of other people posting about the same issue. Needless to say, Covers badly needs to improve their site. This forum should not be able to crash an adblock program, but it does.

The issue with the site crashing ad blockers is something our IT team is aware of and working to resolve. In addition, we are always working to improve/change the way ads are being presented with the goal of improving the experience our users have while using the site. We appreciate any feedback and all issues that are reported get forwarded to the team to look in to. If we hear back that there are other suggested fixes or improvements coming we will update everyone at that time.

Personally, I have not experienced any of the issues you are describing with regards to lag or layout being effected by ads. Deleting cache/cookies or installing ad blockers have worked for many in the past, though I certainly cannot speak to all ad blockers and their reliability.

CT - Thanks for the reply as well to let us know you guys are aware. This is the first time this has ever happened to me here, which caught me off guard since my adblock has always worked fine here to this point. I look forward to any future tech updates on this matter.

No, our response will be the same as it was previously. We are aware of an issue where certain Ad Blockers have crashed while using our site, and our IT team is looking at the cause/finding a solution. We will update everyone when we hear back on a potential fix.

Same issues here as well. Although it&#x27;s not crashing Adblock, the contest pages are loading really slow, sometimes not at all. It&#x27;s the Smokey the Bear ad,. " Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires. ". At the bottom of the asit states, " Learn More." No need to respond to my post, just throwing out some more information for you guys.

This is getting ridiculous...    every time I try to type my cursor goes away and the page drops to down to whatever ad is trying to pop up on the bottom of the screen.   I can&#x27;t imagine what crap is being loaded on to my computers.

Slowing the site down, screen moving up/down when trying use cursor.How close is the fix?

I have ad blocker and that seems to be working alright. However, how many dam times am I going to hit investments or politics when trying to click a different forum because the page scrolls up and down while trying to load the ad and getting rejected by my ad blocker. The one second I&#x27;m in politics is 1 second too long to be in that cesspool.
