From my experiences, people like to pick RBs first and work their way from the remaining selections. However, since you're going last which means you get to go first in the 2nd round, ill recommend you pick up 2 WRs or a QB and a WR.

Or you can always pick up 2 QBs that has value in order to trade them when the time is right.
Not trying to talk shit, but that's the worst advice you can give someone. I never understand when people draft to have trade bait; you should draft to build the best team possible. I know in my league if a guy does this NO ONE will trade with him because we already know he's fucked and has no chance so why help him out. There are so many QB's available that no one ends up needing one. Last year I got Warner in the 7th, Schaub in the 9th, and lots of others go around the same time.

I know it is still only July, but I am in a big money league and have already started to plan a draft plan.
14 team league and I have the 14th pick
What positions would you target and who should I look at grabbing. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
I always go 2 RB's or 1 RB 1 WR. This year is a tough year so it's hard for me to recommend which guys to take. I haven't really been sold yet on my rankings.

it just depends on how he wants to structure his team around, RBs or WRs. You cant have everything. But on any given day ill take the QB over a wr or rb

being last in a league of 14 doesn't leave him with many top RBs, so i strongly recommend going with QB/WR. That way you can get Great QB and Great WR.

I would see who is available at running back first. If there is nothing good at that time value wise I would go with the two next best available players. For instance, you might pick up two WR or a WR and a QB. It will be difficult to do this but there are so many running backs by committee now that you are likely to end up with decent ones in the up coming rounds when everyone else is picking receivers and quarterbacks. For example, you could go Aaron Rodgers and Larry Fitzerald or Reggie Wayne and Calvin Johnson. Or with your first two picks you could take two average running backs and sacrifice some of the top tier QB and WR. It is all about who gets taken where that is why strategies are hard to stick to in drafts. Good luck man!

Stick with whatever top RB is left on board.,MJDrew or Ray Rice & then get yourself a Top Notch Receiver like A.Johnson or Fitzgerald , GL
No doubt that MJD or Ray Rice will both be available with the 14th pick. Maybe with the 42nd pick he can get Frank Gore or Steven Jackson.
In all seriousness, it kind of depends on how many running backs & wide receivers you start in this league. I'd say with the 14/15th pick I'd either go RB/RB or RB/WR. Normally I'd say definately RB/RB, but I do think after the top couple WR tiers there's a little bit of a fall off this year

i havent posted on here before but i'd say i'm pretty knowledgeable about fantasy football and in this situation its pretty obvious that u want to go top tier QB (at least either of brees or rodgers should be available) and a top 3 WR...someone like roddy white because a johnson is most likely not going to be available and i'm not completely sold on fitzgerald with leinart manning the ship. i think if you had BREES+WHITE you'd have a solid foundation. WR are hard to come by this year and with the crazy number of running backs by committee it makes no sense to target a mid second round equivalent. I've done a tone of mock drafts already this year and it seems that 4-6 round is characterized by having LOTS of decent running backs. since you have 2 WR slots and a flex, i'd suggest getting the top tier WR and draft as many WR/RB fliers as u can. There are tons of TE's this year so focus on getting depth at WR/RB....guys i'm looking at in the mid/late rounds are montario hardesty, santana moss, chris cooley, johnny knox, demaryius thomas, knowshon, pierre thomas (seen him going 3-4rd in many mocks), matt forte....potentially if you could get brees, roddy in the first and some combination of knowshon/thomas/forte, etc i think you would have a great first 4 rounds...draft at least 4WR and 4RB and see who ends up exceeding their ADP. in deep leagues like this its all about high upside volume of WR and RB as long as u got the QB spot on lock.

oh yea, also take a look at arrelius benn and golden tate, i think they'll be valuable in the late rounds as they have very little competition for looks...hoosh? cmon...
and imo, moss+grant aint gonna win u jack shit

Draft Moss/Brady or Manning/Wayne if they are there. I'm serious. I did a 14 team draft yesterday and I ended up getting a choice of Beanie Wells/Jahvid Best/Jonathon Stewart/LeSean McCoy in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
You have to have a different draft strategy then the first half of the draft when you are at the back end of the draft. You CAN'T match RB/RB when someone else is getting C. Johnson or All Day.
I went 9th in my draft and took Rodgers(thank god he was there) and reached for Greg Jennings about 10 spots higher than he should have went. But I wanted that combination and there was no way in hell Jennings is there in round 3 for me.
Basically what I'm saying is figure out your strategy and what you want to do and don't be scared to reach for something cause someone might talk shit to you. Be a contrarian and take a chance.
Btw, my buddy drafted Brees and Brady with his first two picks and, it's true, people are already saying they won't trade with him for either right now.

I finally looked thru the results of my draft and found out that 4 other players went with the draft strategy of getting a solid tier 1 or 2 QB and matching thier no. 1 receiver with it. No one did this last year. All of the guys who did it were in the back half of the first round as well. And 3 of the 4(including me) reached to pair them up on one pick.
I also noticed Turner, Gore, and Matthews went a lot earlier than I thought they would. I know my league is a horrible sample size for an overall view but i'm throwing it out there for you. Take what you want from it. Our buy in is a $100 so it is a league that is taken seriously since that's decent money for most of the guys playing.

Thanks for the advice guys. All very helpful. Any more?
Can you explain the points in your league? This is the biggest piece of the puzzle. Point per catch? 6 points for a passing TD? Answer this, and it will unlock the door.

4 points for a passing TD, 6 points for running or receiving. 25 passing yards is 1 point, 10 rushing and receiving is 1 point

Stick with whatever top RB is left on board.,MJDrew or Ray Rice & then get yourself a Top Notch Receiver like A.Johnson or Fitzgerald , GL
These two RBs will be gone by pick 5 at the latest....maybe 4.
I would recommend the top two WRs on the board....odds are Andre Johnson is gone by 8 or 9, Moss may be gone as well. I would wait on QB as long as can and build you WR and RBs first....you will be able to land two lower tier one receivers at 14 and 15
