You have quite the nice stable of RB's. How many do you start?
QB could be a little stronger, but of the 2 I like Garrard much more. From a fantasy standpoint, I want nothing to do with Eli. If you only start 3 RB's then you might be able to move one to get a QB. The buzz on Ray Rice has gotten out of hand, so you might be able to get someone to over pay for him. And maybe you could throw Eli into the deal as well. Some fantasy owners actually like the guy.
And agree with umgmu. Lose Akers

I only start two RBs which is a bit of a problem. I was sixth pick and Jackson fell to the second round and I couldn't say no. Then Kevin Smith was still there in the fourth and I couldn't say no again...
One guy took both mcnabb and rodgers and another took p. manning and cutler which fucked me for QBs. Quinn, Collins, Bulger, Edwards and Hill all still avail but not sure if any represent an upgrade.
Does the dislike of akers come from the fact that he doesn't make many fgs over 50 yards?

I think the dislike in Aikers his he either puts up big numbers or not many, nothing consistent. In my league last year, he was one of the top producers. I'd keep him.
I like Eli to for the 1st 3/4 of the season. He'll be very solid, not stat breaking but solid. He usually falls apart near the end of the season. Garrard actually performs better as the season goes on. So you have a nice 1/2 combo for the season.
I think you definately have a playoff team...

I was wondering whether garrard might be a better choice in the first week because they're likely to be behind against the colts in the second half and thus having to throw a lot. by contrast nyg-wash games over the last couple of years have been quite cagey and run-dominated. does this make any sense?
Would also appreciate any advice over how to rotate rbs and wrs if all fit and healthy. obviously some are just plain better than others, but would you switch them often based on opposition? for example if the panthers were playing the steelers/ravens or some other good run based defence would it be worth switching williams for thomas for that week? basically i'm just a bit clueless with regards to basic ff strategy...:)

You make really solid points and I wouldn't want to be either Manning or Gerrard this weekend.
Last year in Week 1, Giants played Wash in NY and Manning didn't throw a td but ran for one. I think you can expect a similar result...he'll be good for 1 td, either throwing or running it in himself. In the rematch, he threw for a TD. In my league, he had 12pts in week 1 and 14pts in the rematch.
In Garrard's 1st game vs Indy last year he was brutal, throwing for 167yrd and 1 int. In the rematch in Jax he was lights out, 329, 2 td (1passing, 1 rushing) with 1 pick. In my league he had 4 pts in the 1st meeting and 21in the rematch.
If I had to choose, I'd go with Manning based on the consistency of getting between 12-14pts, instead of a risk of 4pts-21pts.
I played the matchups ever so often, but find if you overthink it you shoot yourself in the foot. To me, Williams and Jackson are your weekly starters unless Smith starts tearing it up. Your WR should be Gonzo and Boldin unless things change. I don't play with my line ups for the first few weeks and don't pull the trigger to quick. I remember I traded Ronnie brown after 3 bad weeks for Thomas Jones who had 3 bad weeks (two years ago)...in week 4, I believe Brown scored 40+pts and was the best running back for the next 4 weeks until he hurt himself. lol.

I think QB is your area of greatest uncertainty... Not sure what to expect out of the Giants and Jags in terms of wanting to be a passing team....I think the Giants would rather pound the ball with Jacobs. With departue of F taylor...one would assume the Jags will be throwing the ball more as they are not going to line up MJD to run the Ball at defenses. See greater potential with Garrard.
Your RB's are top shelf.... Ironically I Love your 4th one R Rice the most... should have a really nice year
Bolden is consistent I think you will have a choice of serviceable WR'sat #2 and the luxury of Breaston if he is injured.
I don't think much about kickers and D so I won't comment on it.
So for your first draft I would give you a B+ only because I have reservations at your QB position.
Good luck
