Two players i was counting on to come up big this year...
Brandon Phillips... Batting .210 not living up to his potential
Denard Span... Batting .221 as a leadoff guy and in 82 ABs only has 3 games where hes had more than one hit... Hes drawn a ton of walks showing patience at the plate, maybe will turn into some hits soon...
Free agents avail... Ive got my eye on Ty Wigginton he starts everywhere in the infield... Would drop Phillips for him... As far as OFs go Chris Young, Podsednik, Marlon Byrd, Austin Jackson top players to replace Span...
How long do i wait for these guys to come around? Im in a free league which is why so many players available... Got a wager with a buddy and we are the most active in picking up free agents...

Wiggy would be a good pickup because Roberts doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon as he has not even been able to do "baseball activites" yet.
AJax is a MUST pickup imo. Damon is on a nice hitting streak and Magglio and Miggy Cab are power behind him. AJax is doing REALLY good right now for hitting, stealing bases and scoring runs. On the other hand...so is Pods...but I personally rather have AJax on my team. However........Span is not someone I'd give up on yet. If he starts hitting...Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer all backing him up...scary. I can see him being a 100+ runs guy with 25+ stolen bases.
So drop Phillips because he's a guy who others probably won't pick up. And if they do...so what...get Wiggington and worry about a replacement down the road when Roberts comes back.

Heres how my current team looks... Been mixing it up a bit...
C Matt Wieters 1B Justin Morneau 2B Brandon Phillips 3B Casey Mcgehee (Can start at 2B as well) SS Hanley Ramirez 2B/SS Asdrubal Cabrera 1B/3B James Loney OF Andre Ethier OF Denard Span OF Magglio Ordonez OF Chase Headley (Can start at 3rd) OF Jose Guillen Utility Kendry Morales Bench Jacoby Ellsbury (Would be starting but on DL)
SP Felix Hernandez SP Chris Carpenter SP Clayton Kershaw SP Brad Penny (Just dropped Jurrjens for him been F'n me up) SP Barry Zito SP Johnathan Sanchez SP Francisco Liriano RP Kevin Gregg (replacing Lidge while on DL) RP Bobby Jenks RP Jon Rauch RP Ryan Franklin
Do I just ride it out with PHILLIPS and SPAN? Any recommended changes... Im new at this so my patience is wearing thin... All opinions appreciated...

Thanks my brotha sounds about right... im kinda loaded on OFs... I would need to do some serious mixin and matching if i pick up Jackson but you sound pretty high on him... def gonna pick up Wigginton for Phillips though and see what happens with Span... Ive got Morneau so if Span starts getting on it will benefit me with or without him... But i think ill give him a lil more time...

I can move Headley to 3rd and drop Loney to put Jackson in the OF Loney is another one of those not so sure guys... Had a solid year last year and is in a better lineup for more RBI opp. Will Jose Guillen keep it up?

Damn...Penny wasn't picked up yet? Insane. I have him and Zito too. I also have the Magglio and AJax combo and it's REALLY solid.
And is Theroit available? If so move Cabrera to 2nd and make him your 2B/SS.
And I'm not a fan of Loney either. He's droppable imo. And I personally think Guillen does keep it up. I think he'll be fighting with Magglio and Vernon Wells for comeback player of the year.

thanks for the advice SPARK... like i stated before its a free league and most of the players not active on picking up free agents... makes it a little tough with so many options to go with but ill say thats a good problem... Loney has no pop whatsoever took him all last season to get a HR at home... but he does benefit being in a good lineup... Surprising enough with all those players avail Theriot is not... i think im gonna but Headley at 1st/3rd drop Loney and put Jackon in the OF and keep Mcgehee around at 3b for a while... I think it could work out having the Jackson/Ordonez combo as well as Span/Morneau hopefully lots of runs and RBI... Thanks again for your opinions...
