Keeper Help

Question

In a keeper league and have my draft this Friday night. I can keep 3 between these 4:

Matt Ryan - Trent Richardson - DeMarco Murray, Reggie Wayne. No real other options.

I won it last year, so I get the last pick - #12

PPR league - Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 2 Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1K

My original thinking was to keep Ryan, Richardson & Murray. Then tonight, I started thinking about keeping Wayne and letting Ryan go and perhaps I can grab him in the draft.

Reason I am thinking is, I believe there are 12 strong QBs - Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Manning, RG3, Wilson, Kapernick Ryan, Newton, Stafford, Romo, Luck.

Romo may be stretching it, but he did finish 8th in QB scoring. You still have Dalton, Flacco, Rothlisberger and even schaub/freeman.

What are your thoughts? I know a few may say to toss Murray, but I like him unless you think he's less likely to be snagged by the time it comes to me - which could be the case.

T-Rich is a shoe-inI personally really like Murray And Ryan should have a big year. S Jax, Gonzalez, roddy, and Julio. Matty Ice should have a monster year. I&#x27;d drop Wayne and pick up any other WR or hell you may have another shot at Wayne

i agree...no brainer ryan , richardson and murray.

How many teams in your league and what pick # do you have in the draft ?

I think even if you have 12 teams per say in your pool...even with an overall top 36 gone- you would STILL be able to draft a better reciever than reggie wayne, but if you drop murray i dont think you would get a better RB than him IMO

Lets assume we set aside  the 12 QB&#x27;s you listed (as keepers): Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Manning, RG3, Wilson, Kapernick Ryan, Newton, Stafford, Romo, Luck. Then add another 19 or so backs..AP, Martin, Spiller, Foster, Rice, Forte, Charles, McCoy, Richardson, Reggie Bush, Lynch , Morris , Chris Johnson, Demarco, Run DMC, Frank Gore, MJD, Steven Jackson, Lamar Miller, And Top 7 wideouts:Megatron, Brandon Marshall, Roddy White, Andre Johnson, AJ Green,Demaryius Thomas and Larry FitzThats 38 deep right there:So add another 12 players- including the new rookie backs (assuming you have no expansion teams) - Leveon BellMontee BallMaybe Ridley or David Wilson?

Which would leave about 9 possible wide receivers to get drafted:

Dez Bryant (if nobody decides to keep him)

Julio Jones

Randall Cobb (ppr machine)

Vincent Jackson

Marques Colston

Pierre Garcon (buyer beware)

Wes Welker (ppr machine)

Dwayne Bowe

Victor Cruz

All of the above receivers i would take AHEAD of reggie wayne, but Wayne could easily be in the mix - like Garcon buyer beware, Wayne would easily be able to be redrafted while Murray would be impossible.

I think by dropping Wayne and keeping Murray it would give you great opportunity to match or IMPROVE your team significantly considering you have pick # 12 and pick #13.

Almost the same dilemma as my Forte DT dilemma lol...but i have less talent to choose from

Thanks for the input. Just to confirm, my thinking is to keep TRich and Murray and drop Ryan, keep Wayne.

My reasoning:

If I drop Ryan, there is a very good chance that I can pick him up with the 12 or 13th pick. (12 guys in the league) and then grab Gronk (pick up another TE later while he is injured) or Gonzo, Witten (unless someone studly is available).

Option 2 is to grab a QB in later rounds and pick up a stud WR and TE.

So my line up would look like this:

Average QB
TRich
D Murray
R Wayne
Stud WR
Very Strong TE - Gonzo, Witten, Gronk

Bench - Average QB play based on match up (like Schaub, Big Ben, Dalton)

If I keep Ryan, then I need to decide whether with the 12/13 I go with WR/WR and next time through grab a TE (maybe Daniels, etc)

What I am debating is whether the drop off in talent in WR (will dress two - or 1 if I go 3 rb) larger than QB.

Interesting idea that I'm still thinking about.

Any other thoughts?
