Need ideas to determine draft order

Question

Looking for some suggestions on how to determine draft order for my leagues draft this year. This will be our first time doing it live and drawing numbers out of a hat seems a little boring. Any clever ways you guys have set your draft orders?

vvryan&#xD;&#xA;here is what we have been doing for a couple of years.  when we draw numbers out of a hat , the numbers corispond to who picks where they draft.  example in a 12 team league the person who draws #1 gets to pick where he will draft  anywhere from 1 to 12 .  then whoever has #2 picks from the remaining 11 spots. hope this helps.

[/Quote]yes we did this for fantasy baseball and following it up for our football draft.its called Kentucky derby around my parts..it certainly adds some strategy to the draft

If you have a keeper league, we do a lottery like the NBA does, and then still implement being able to choose where you draft as you pull.

I like that idea but don&#x27;t draw numbers out of a hat. See who can shotgun the most beers or pound the most shots in a given time span. Then let the alcohol set in for an hour or so and then start the draft. &#xD;&#xA;I think THAT would make it interesting.

Wow that sounds like a really badass idea...the "Kentucky Derby" idea. In all my years of playing fantasy football I have never even heard of this but it sounds cool...might have to pass it on to the guys in my league

I left out another part.  It is called the 3rd round reversal. Rounds 1 and 2 is the normal 1-12 , 12-1, then round 3 starts back with team 12 and the draft snakes as normal from there.With these rules it makes being near the bottom more valuable.  Give it a try ,its a blast.
