It could be 6 years and possibly worth as much as $96 million.
Alright...I know they missed out on Lee and want to make a bang...but doesn't his track record mean anything? People are so high on a player's most recent season. Jeter has a bad season and he's not worth $5 million while Beltre had a stellar season and is worth this much?
I say he'll certainly be better than with the Mariners (for a few of these years) but not as good as his most recent year with Boston. We know what kind of defense you'll get with him but, imo, this is a terrible financial decision for the Rangers.
So where does Young go from here? Then you have to dish out money to resign Hamilton and C.J. Wilson? I'm, personally, not a fan of the move.

not a fan of the move from a baseball prospective...do get some flexibility now with kinsler andrus young in the outfield where they can DH, but thought a first baseman like Dunn would have been a better fit considering their needs.
this improves beltre in fantasy although as we know it comes with a high risk due to his history after getting paid. The fact that he gets to hit in Arlington with this lineup should keep his #s up there. Problem is he's probably done working on his game now that he is rich again.
