Let's be honest, Germany and Brasil are pretty evenly matched with Neymar and Silva playing. Why is Brasil the slight favorite still? Because of their record at home/home pitch adv/style of play? Germany seems like the easy pick but this line SMELLS like a Brasil win. Hmmmmm....

Interesting, my book has Germany as slight favorite and without Silva and especially Neymar this seems more than adequate. I think this nearly even line stems at least a bit from this 'Brazil-must-reach-the-final-even-with-refs-help-conspirancy' thing.
Obviously Brazil was under extreme pressure to win it all and it has showed in their game. Now they are without their best offensive player and their captain which could give them a perfect excuse. But I expect them to fight their hearts out and prove that they are a team - not just Neymar sidekicks.
Germany on the other hand has more overall talent in its roster (at least the best 12-13): An opportunistic offense, a mostly solid defense and arguably the best goalie in the tournament. But they are also under heavy pressure after coming close but never were able to win a championship in 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012. Now they even changed their style of play from more offensive to defensive-minded to finally win the thing.
I hope and also believe that this is the year. Tonight Germany will win an ugly low scoring battle of two teams going 'all-in'.
Germany to advance!

I like your take gunslinger. I just can't wager against Brazil given these circumstances. This match feels as if the pressure is on Germany now. My local has Brazil -120 and Germany -110

Next to Olympic & USA boxing and Olympic figure skating, World Cup soccer has to be third in line for the most corrupt sport in the world. Given that fact, I will not be putting my money down against Brazil in a game where 100% of the country will be focused on the game. Brazil is very likely to get the benefit of the whistle today. Win or lose, I'll take the refs on my side in this one.
