As an Aussie, I have to agree with you on this.

We have just signed Bert van Marwijk as our coach and really, he hasn't been given much time to prepare the team. Our last coach who helped us qualify for the WC left straight after qualifying. The Aussie team lacks any striker and we rely heavily on Tim Cahill who is around 39 years of age to score our goals. He may bang 1 or 2 in in the 3 games but apart from that, we have very little threat against Denmark, Peru and France. Too me, that looks like a 0-3 WC, maybe get a draw against Peru because they won't be used to playing in Russia and the lower qualifying South American countries don't play too well away from home. Absolute best, the Aussies lost 2 and get 1 draw.
