Rickem is right, don't bother with the pills. Atkins diet works well for losing weight. I have two friends who have tried it and both lost weight and most importantly belly fat and were never hungry throughout the diet because of the high fat and protein foods which keeps you satiated for long periods. They usually only ate 2 meals a day without having snacking cravings. The reason Atkins diet works is because its reduces the amount of insulin in your body which is only produced when eating carbohydrates. Insulin is a fat storing hormone so when you reduce the insulin in your body the body goes from fat storing mode to fat burning mode. Some light cardio and weights go well with this diet.

I wonder what long term health problems will become associated with a carnivorous diet consisting of copious amounts of saturated fat ? Goodbye weight, hello heart disease !

Actually saturated fat has not been proven to cause heart disease. This myth is based on a study conducted in the 1950's in which the data was cherry picked to prove the authors hypothesis, he ignored the data which did not support his hypothesis, this is called "confirmation bias".If you look through through the data, there are many countries such as France who consume a high amount of saturated fat and have low rates of heart disease. The studies which show a correlation between saturated fat and heart disease are flawed in many aspects. Correlation does not equal causation. I can find a correlation between two variables but that does not mean that they are linked in anyway.
The eskimos ate a carnivourous diet high in saturated fat and were healthy. They started getting heart disease and other ailments when they began eating a Western diet full of sugars and refined carbohydrates. Atkins diet is a healthful way of eating but the problem is that most people can't continue eating this way for long periods because they will crave things such as pasta , breads and desserts and will fall of the wagon.

Atkins doesnt mean you have to eat shitty. Turkey, tuna and chicken are all lean. You can trim the fat off pork and beef, or buy the extra lean. You can have fruit and veggies and nuts.
Do a little research next time

Starting Atkins today--- anyone have any advice?? I'm gonna take some weight loss pills from GNC as well
1) Lipo6
2)Max CLA
3) El Cartine
Breakfast I had 2 fried eggs and 4 sausage links with 3 glasses of water
also giving up diet soda and staright skoal
Honestly you should not do the Atkins diet. You might lose weight on the outside, but you will get way to much fat which will hurt you long term.
The best diet for you is to keep eating a normal food. Some easy advice to follow:
1) All soda should be with 0 calories version. 2) At least 3 meals per day 3) Eat as many veggies per as you like 4) Eat a couple of fruits if you like 5) Potatoes, Rice and Pasta - Eat no more than 50-100 grams per day. 6) Meat/Fish/Poultry eat one medium sized piece 50-100 gram. 7) Excersise 30 min per day if possible 8) Spoil yourself once in a while. Eating a bag of candy, or some icecream will chocolate will not hurt you if you do all the other things.

buy a Weber Q 100 grill and you can buy the griddle attachment for breakfast food. I marinade my meats in balsamic vinegrette and Ken's italian salad dressing in a ziplock bag and freeze them in good sized portion sizes. I buy salmon steaks (or catch my own and filet them) and grill them too. Like you, I dump the diet soda and drink mainly water and maybe a few beers each night. The other tip I can give you is to buy some Fiber 1 cereal because of its high fiber content and eat it if you get hungry between meals because it will fill you right up. I normally drop about 10 lbs per month without adding to my exercise regiment and about 20 if I increase exercise. Then come January 1st I add the weight on again as ice fishing picks up. Then the process starts all over again.
