So my friend tells me yesterday that fresh sliced Deli meats, even lean ones like Turkey, or buffalo chicken contribute to excess belly fat...I tried googling this and I cant find anything about this...he is a healthy kid who knows his stuff, but Ive never heard of this, and I am pretty wel versed myself...
has anyone heard of this before??
Ive also heard Granola isnt as great for ya either, high in carbs etc..which is true, but I figured id be getting more benefits from it, however I dont seem to think that is the case anymore. Love Granola in my yogurt

The meat itself unless loaded with added carbs will not contribute to belly fat. Try and look for meat which is low in sodium with no sugar added to it and no starches or flour added. Excess sodium will cause water retention and temporary weight gain. Remember that the primary cause of weight gain and belly fat is the hormone insulin which is only produced in large amounts when carbohydrate is consumed. If you keep carbohydrate consumption low you will not gain any belly fat.

Check out Applegate Farms organic meats. Turkey, ham, chicken breast are delicious and no b.s. additives (some sodium to keep it fresh, but less than regular deli meats).
