For the past 2 or 2.5 months, I've been jogging 12-15 miles a week. While I've gained a lot of endurance, have created a habit, and feel a lot better in general, it's time for a change up. I don't feel as though a gym membership is something I'm interested in, so the question is: how do I train to gain lean muscle while maintaining endurance?
I have dumbbells and a pull up bar, but as of now my routine is as follows:
3 or 4 times per week:
- 5-10 mins stretching - 10 min core/ab work - 20x 4 or 5 sets of pushups - 3-5 mile jog
In all, it is about a 40 minute work out with the large majority being without a break.
To the guys with solid training backgrounds: what kind of routines can I put together to gain different kinds of results?
