My new trainer is basically making me sprint or at least fast run for an hour...... in between body weight pushups, pullups and stuff.
It is ridiculous but doable.
The first week is a mofo but it gets easier.

the ideal heart rate range for fat loss is 120-135 bpm (assuming you're between 25-35 years old). That equates to low intensity activity ie a very slow jog, using a stepper machine ect. And around 30 minutes at that heart rate range is ideal.
You could throw in maybe one or two of the high intensity sessions you mentioned per week, but you shouldn't go overboard on the high intensity stuff as when you're working out in the high heart rate ranges that's when injuries can occurr.
