have anyone here tried making one? there's plenty of website that have recipes. and i dont know what to follow.. 

im planning on selling it because there's plenty of koreans here. any tips?

where do you live ?
you better sell the good ones.
koreans won't buy kimchi made by someone else, unless its really good. 
recipe? its with time you will make the best kimchi.
your idea can be good but it wont work.
my friends' family sell kimchi to people here (canadians) , it sells.
but selling kimchi to koreans is not the best idea.

I always thought that most koreans made their own kim chee...

My understanding is that it is basically cabbage and korean spices pickled for a long time... I head they even have 100 year old varieties... So you might be looking having to wait for it to get right...

There is also of phony, gringo, "tacobell like" kim chee out there in asian markets which I have tried and feel so ripped off...

The best is when you go to a korean restaurant  and they bring out the kim chee along with many different types of pickled vegetables to feast on...

I hate that stuff too.  I work at Samsung Electronics and I'm required to have dinner meetings at Korean restaurants.  Korean food is overrated and overpriced for what you get.

Kimchi is the worst.

Fermented cabbage, sometimes  that's been buried in the ground for a while with some powdered red peppers added to it.

Walked into a mega Korean grocery mart................... was living the dream in there........ mushrooms everywhere..... everything...... and then wandered onto the wrong aisle and

It was an entire ROOM full of Kimchi
