i quit the gym, whats the point if im not eating right why go? so im looking at eating right, ive been doing about 1,500-2k cals a day. if it's 80% what you eat, 80% of that is not eating late at night. once i lose 20 more lbs, then and only then will i look at getting back in a gym

..... Down the road when you want to hit the muscles, lot you can do without a gym membership.... sprints, jumps, lunges, pushups, pullups, crunches, etc.

bobert...agreed on not eating late...no matter what it is..maybe just something small to keep you honest. But try not eating within 3-4 hrs of bed time...and keep that meal lean.

Lately I have been eating a few egg whites a couple hours before bed. If you have your evening meal around 6ish and go to bed around midnight, I thought your metabolism will slow if you don't eat a little. True or no?

There is NOTHING wrong with eating after 7 or even a couple hours before you go to sleep. It just depends on WHAT you are eating. Carbs are obviously not something you would want to eat as a last meal prior to bed. Stick with healthy fats i.e. flax oil or safflower oil. Also include a protein of some sort. Cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein for your meal prior to bed time because it digests really slow. But any lean protein source will do or even whey protein.
As far as carbs there is noting wrong with eating carbs around the evening. It just depends on the type of carb. You want a very slow burning carb like the fibrous carbs found in leafy green vegetables like lettuce, broccoli, green been, spinach, etc...
It is beneficial to have a meal before you go to bed as long as you are eating the right stuff because you can increase your metablosim while you are sleeping which means you can burn fat.
