So I'd say I'm about 95% after my shoulder surgery in April. Ive been done with PT for a month or so now, and just been working out on my own. Already doing some boxing and shit, and think the shoulder feels pretty solid.
Started Insanity yesterday, and shits pretty legit. Its 60 days, and kind of like a P90X routine; high intensity, continuous movement, altering muscle groups, with brief water breaks every 8 minutes or so. I'm thinking it's ganna get me right back to where I was before the surgery, or even ahead of where I was.
I haven't been around much, but will try and update how it is going, or if I've even had the time to keep up with it.
Anyone here complete this?

sounds good, quid. i swore off all weightlifting about 8 years ago and don't miss it but i've considered starting one of these more cardio centered workouts. let us know how it goes.

I did P90X for a while, but I was in much better shape then. Ive only been back at it for about a month, and Im 4 days into Insanity now. If you were 30 days in why would you stop?
Insanity is pretty legit. your always working different muscle groups while keeping the cardio at a high rate. Every I feel that I worked a majority of my body, and I never used to get sore. I have a pretty solid diet, but had to buy protein powder for the first time ever. Like anything else, your ganna get out of it what you put in, and ive been getting at it pretty good.

Youll be happy to know that I got a carb free protein powder, forget the name now, but ill get it to you.
Lately Ive been getting heartburn at the end of working out, but i think thats from eating too close to the work out. Another thing, and it always happens when I'm doign intense work out regiments, is my bowel movements are loose as hell. I think its because i eat so much fiber, and vegetable in particular, but its like not even fully digested (sorry for the details). Any suggestions? I also got a probiotic, 25 Billion, was thinking that might help.
Ill keep you guys posted. Also stopped drinking for the duration of Insanity, an only during this Sat out of the whole 60 days. Theres a huge gathering with a lot of old friends coming around for.
Im 26, ROC, get off your ass!

squid, a protein powder without carbs probably won't taste as good but you don't need those carbs. as for your other issue, that's not really my area but from what i read, your bowel movements are supposed to be soft and eating fruits and vegetables contributes to that. however, mine aren't despite eating a lot of fruits and vegetables and i think it's because of the protein powder and protein from nuts everyday. also, as you indicated, alcohol will definitely set you back. maybe in our next life, alcohol will be good for us.
keep us updated, i may try something like this one of these days. i'm about 18 pounds lighter today than i was about 10-15 years ago and i've probably gained 3-4 pounds of fat in that time. it might not kill me to add some muscle.

Whether the protein powder or probiotics, it seems to be working. I'm looking at it like a 60 day challange. I know u like to challange your mind and body as welln so it may be something for u.

I did 3 weeks on insanity and I have to say it is the most difficult workout I have ever done. I give Shaun T a ton of credit for creating it and performing it.
However, I get bored easily and I just felt like I was doing the same workout every other day. Performing it at home also isn't beneficial for me personally either. Just to many possible distractions.
Best of luck with it and I hope it works out for you.
I am starting to get into kettlebell training more right now. I'm also thinking about starting a yoga program as well.
I am starting to agree with Clubdirt more these days though. I am not a huge fan of traditional weightlifting anymore(I'm 30). I am starting to notice that I get hurt more easily when performing traditional weight lifting exercises and they aren't very efficient when it comes to functional strength, imo. I've always been a big proponent of form over lifting as much weight as possible to, so it's not that.

Damn, train, why would u stop after 3 weeks, almost half done. I agree it is a little repetative, but u can tell that it works. Some days after working out I wouldn't even feel like id been worked. Now, with insanity, I feel worked out after every session.
I did some yoga when I was doing p90x, and its more dofficult than one would think. Good luck with what ever you decide on.
Week 2 starts tolday for me, and I can already notice a difference putting on my belt, and in my stamina going through the warm-ups. I'm hoping the progression stays Consistent

I just can't work out at home. I wish I could because it would save a ton in gym memberships. I just can't focus on it with all the distractions home provides. I can't do on-line college courses at home either. Same issues. Well that and I constantly end up watching porn when I should be doing homework.
I do agree that is does work and it is the toughest organized workout I have ever done. I hope you are able to finish it and see results.

I guess I'm really focused, cause I attend an online university.
I have been seeing results, like I can do just a little more everyday. I've been only weighing myself every Monday, and was down like 3 pounds the first week. I don't expect to see tha every week, and don't really want to. I wil try and keep updated as I progress.

Down another 2 pounds this week, but rly feel I've gained some muscle at the same time. Today is a fit test, which I also took day 1, so ill have numbers to put to the progress. Ill try to post them later for anyone who's interested in the program.

I'm only down another LB, so 6 total. Think the progress has been steady. My legs have always been solid, but they're getting to a whole other level now. Calves are straight shredded. Program is actually 9 weeks, as week 5 is a recovery week -a lot of balance and core I assume- and all new routines come in for weeks 6-9. I'm excited to see what they will bring, and how my body will look and feel when its done.
Just keep workin

Day 25 today.

I'm proud to say that I am on day 60/62 of my insanity workout. I have been incredibly busy with work and school, which made it that much harder to maintain the dedication to this routine. I have no regrets, however. The results that I have seen are really remarkable. It sounds like an infomercial, but it really is amazing how much you can transform your body is 2 months. I have never been in this kind of shape in my life. My arms and legs are as solid as can be, and my core is just something I've never had there, defined. Haven't done a single sit-up or crunch, but have the best midsection of my life, hands down. Couldn't be happier with the results that I got from this workout.
Everyone keeps asking me what I going to do next, and I honestly don't know. I can't see myself getting into another routine that will come anywhere close to the results that I have gotten from this. I would like to put on a little more mass, so weight training is likely, but I think I will start right back at the insanity in about a week.
If you are serious about changing your body, and your life, this is the way to go. I wont lie, it takes a lot of dedication. Its really only about an hour a day, but its 6 days a week. Its as much a mental challenge as it is a physical challenge, but the results will drive you, no doubt.
