I'm thinking of starting Nutrisystem, because I'm incapable of controlling myself to buy the right portions each day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (I'm a beast). How's the food taste, I know that the portions are ultra small, but I'm thinking that I'll be more disciplined if I'm regulated to a "here is what you're eating, and that's it", rather than count calories and whatnot. Also, the knowlegde that I'm paying $300-400 a month for the food will keep me eating it. Does anyone do the frozen food plan, or does everyone just do the basic plan?

Are you going to do this for the rest of your life? What happens after you're finished? You're gonna go back to what you did before and gain it all back. Not a fan of any of these prepackaged food plans. You need to learn how to eat right for you and then commit to it. No substitute. I wouldn't do Nutrisystem. Take a look at what you eat and see what small substitutions you can make to cut calories. That, plus eat 20-30% less at each meal.

I heard it works if you follow it, but like Depeche said, afterwards, when hopefully you get to where you want to be, you must have a solid strategic and disciplined plan in place when you start buying your own food again.
If mentally that's difficult for you, find something else to obsess about, ideally something active that will keep your mind away from eating for recreation.
Keeping a journal after you educate yourself about proper eating however you have to do it, might be helpful. A little guilt if you violate the agreement that you made with yourself to better trimmer health, might psychologically help keep you on track.
GL..........zillions of good books on proper eating, and not hard at all to seperate junk books on it from the good ones...
